Growin japanese maple seed in summer

Hi here in Australia it is the middle of summer. I picked lots of seeds off what I think is an osakazuki. Or at least a large heptalobum leafed Japanese maple.

Are the seeds likely to germinate with 90 days of cold stratification?

Experts advise to get the seeds in autumn. I obviously haven't but am curious if the embryo inside the seed will be capable of germinating when being picked at this time.

Has anyone germinated Japanese maple seed from fresh green seed of the tree in summer?
