2 Euro pillows for king bed?

I normally have 3 Euro pillows for my king size bed. House will be going on the market and I'm switching from my Pottery Barn floral bedding to plain white. However, I'm only finding sets that have two Euro shams for the king bedding. Will it look weird to have only two Euro pillows on a king bed?

I've had two since we've had our current bedding. I'm sure I've got them arranged the wrong way, but DH and I are normally the only people who see them, and he doesn't care.

DD2 is currently redecorating her MBR, and switching to a king bed. After looking at a million photos online, she bought a two 34" pillows instead of three.

DH hates dealing with pillows, so I had a 48" x 20" decorative pillow made for the king bed. The fabric has all the colors used in th room and a lush fringe trim. Simple but different ... there isn't just one way to set up a bed.

I'm also a two king pillows with cases and two king pillows with shams user. Everything is white cotton or white matelasse, with a solid yellow quilt folded across the bottom. Our walls are yellow and the bed is against the wall. We have no headboard or footboard. Kitty cat sleeps on the yellow quilt every night. I also relate to your disappointment! I literally cried when my bed was delivered and set up, and called my sister on the phone I was so beside myself! I thought it looked so big and awkward and awful. I concluded I'd made one big honkin' mistake, and couldn't imagine *how* I could make such a thing actually look attractive. A little over six years later now, and I regard our king-sized bed as one of the best purchases we've ever made! Within a few months of living with it and adjusting my eye to it, I loved it, both in terms of how it looked in the room and how it functioned as a wonderful, dreamy place to sleep! I agree with LuAnn - king sleeping pillows make sense because if you buy your sheets in sets, yo'll get king pillowcases. but if you buy them separately and prefer your queen pillows go ahead and use them. Whatever you decide to do as'decoration' - standard, king or euro pillows will work in with your sleeping pillow choice. It's a brave new world out there and dressing your bed is a personal choice, there's no right or wrong, IMO.

It partially depends on how many pillows you are willing to deal with. I like to leave the sleeping pillows on the bed, so I lay those flat, then I lay king pillows in king shams flat on top of them. That hides the wrinkled cases on the sleeping pillows. In front of those, I stand up three Euro pillows. What I stand in front of the Euros depends on which bedding I'm using. It could be two standard sized pillows with a smaller breakfast pillow in front of them or three smaller sized pillows with a neckroll in front. My only rules are that it can't take more than three minutes to make the bed in the morning and all of the extra pillows have to fit on the bedside chair. No pillows are allowed to be stacked on the floor. LOL!

Speaking of Etsy, I'm not a frequent shopper but found the online shop below linked in a blog I do read. Seems like great prices for pillow covers. In fact, for people like me who don't have the time/skills/equipment I think it may actually be cheaper to buy these than try to gear up to make one's own! My favorite bed picture (torn from magazine years ago) has two shams and a long pillow in front of it. I did that in one of our guest rooms. Love the long pillow look.

I think most hubbies hate pillows and most wives love them. I'm in that camp and won't even tell you how many I have, ha. I've used three, and I've used two, so I'd say you can go either especially If staging. Hope your home sells quickly

I prefer three, but I agree with other posters that there's no rule you have to follow.

My husband doesn't mind at all. (I am every so thankful too). I did not like the look at all of only 2 euro shams. But, my fix was easy. The euro shams were white with a pale green 1" border around them. I just bought a plain white one and it goes in the center of the 3. Unless you look close, you would never know it wasn't the same as the others. And it's almost only us that sees them. Plus I have the 2 king sized shams in front. And, as others have pointed out, there is no rule. It's what you personally like.

I realize this is an old post, but I‘m currently debating whether to purchase a 3rd euro sham/pillow for my king bed. Not sure if it will be too busy. Here’s the pillow arrangement as is. Thanks in advance for suggestions.
