I am having the same problem. Did you find a cover and what was the size

For years I made my own ironing board covers. For one thing, boughten ones don't always fit right. I just put on some old towels and blankets and then muslin or a sheet on top. Any fitting is confined to slapping the layers on the board and cutting a very rough outline of it so that the layers hang down for 4 or 5 inches all around. Then I use safety pins to shape it around both ends, and in the middle I use two or three of those elastic tape with clips or pincers on both ends to pull the sides of the layers towards each other. However, last time, I got lazy and was tempted by an ad, or maybe something I read online, that claimed a certain board cover would never get burned. I bought one. It truly doesn't get burned, but what I don't like about it is that it seems as slippery as if it were made of horsehair. DH's shirts and other things tend to fall off it. Pleated skirts are a nightmare. Probably it has some spun glass fibers in it. And at the slightest chance, the tip of the bottom blade of my fiscars catches in it and makes a slit. It cuts very easily. I think next time I'll go back to making my own cover.

Personally, I don't even use an ironing board anymore. I prefer to use my work table. I had my hubby use contact cement to glue a layer of cork (available at hardware stores in rolls) to the top. I've found that the cork seems to be heat/steam resistant. Not only does this give me a firm surface to press on, it also is more sturdy for putting a lot of pressure on, like when fusing interfacing. I can put all my weight on the table without worrying that it will collapse! Also, the height is comfortable to press on while I'm seated. I use this table for pattern altering too because I can stick pins directly into the cork to hold pattern pieces where I need them before taping together. I did make a removable cover for this table for ironing. I just cut up an old mattress pad, used two layers with an old towel between (afterwards I realized that the heat didn't hurt the cork) and elastic on the corners to hold it to the table. You can get heat-resistant fabric and put a layer of that on the bottom if you want too. I also cover the cork top with a layer of paper (that inexpensive table cover paper) or two and draw my gridlines on it for pattern altering. I replace the paper when it needs. I even iron on top the paper (careful with the steam, of course). The only thing the cork top isn't good for is cutting with a rotary cutter. Then I put a cutting mat over top. Today I set up my ironing board and decided to catch up on sheets and pillowcases with my new Rowenta iron..I noticed the cord was not wrapped and tied like it came out of the factory, the sole plate was also scratched up in several areas. I figured for 20$ I was not about to complain..I reached into the bottom of the box for the manual and there was none. I filled it to the fill line and set the dual to cottons and plugged it in..didn't take long to heat up but when I tipped it over to iron the water started running out everywhere. Guess I know why this was so cheap. My guess would be it was a return and someone put it back out on the shelf. what a bummer. wonder when I return it if they will give me an even exchange on another lol
