Kickin' Ideabooks Old School: Inspiration Boards

Houzz Contributor. Hi there! I live in a 1940s cottage in Atlanta that I'll describe as "collected."
I got into design via Landscape Architecture, which I studied at the University of Virginia.

As the virtual takes over the tactile in our world, sometimes it's great to get back to basics. These basics often include some corkboard, thumb tacks, and some favorite images ripped out of real sketchbooks and magazines.
Sometimes there's nothing like shuffling around our favorite inspirations, taking away some that no longer work for us, and adding new ideas that catch our fancy. Here are some of my favorites that ironically after all I've just said, I found on the internet! I hope this ideabook will meld the virtual and the tactile in a successful way.

Love this space, love the fun lights, love the inspiration board, and where can I get a pink, green, and white Union Jack notecard?
Kim's electric yellow ornate frame pulls you right into her inspiration board.
What would otherwise look like a hot mess is a lovely collage composition in this black frame.
Do you change it up a lot? These simple clipboards are a great way to hold your ideas in an organized fashion.
Here are some from Ballard Designs. You can also find contractor's clipboards at a very reasonable price at most big box home stores, cover them in pretty paper, and attach ribbons.
Mrs. Limestone's house is always under constant renovation, so she needs a good spot for the ever-evolving plans.
As does this chalkboard wall.
This entire "desk backsplash" is cork, allowing for plenty of items to get some thumbtack attention.
These are just some boards I am considering from Ballard Designs. I wish I was handy enough to build my own, but the fact that I've had a roll of cork in my projects drawer for over five years is a hint that I never will.
Aren't all of the different textures on this board great? This is certainly one area where the old-school board has the virtual board beat.
I'm quite sure I remember seeing this room inspiration board in a decor8 contest and I just love what she's chosen.
This is one of my favorite artist's (Heather Knight of Element Clay Studio) inspiration board. You can see how these ideas translate in her lovely work here: http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5226330
