hi over the last 20 years ... i have learned one thing in regard to plants that other warn me about .. THEY ARE USUALLY RIGHT ... THEY SAID.. DONT PLANT POPLARS .. I DID .. I REGRETTED IT.. AND HAD TO CUT 25 DOWN .. THEY SAID DONT PLANT MINT.. I DID.. THEN SPENT 5 YEARS TRYING TO GET RID OF IT ... opps... didnt mean to yell ... lol they said.. dont plant .. well.. fill in the blank ... if in the next 25 years.. you want your acreage covered by crumby trees... go for it... but you have been warned ... you can do so much better.. contact your local SOIL CONSERVATION DISTRICT office [google your county name and SCD] .. in spring.. at proper planting time.. they offer bulk plants... of small size at extremely reasonable prices.. like 25 white pine for $16, e.g. .... this is how you cover land.. and the whole point of the SCD is to do it the right way .... not with potentially invasive, fast growing.. fast to be damaged.. fast to die trees ... in the alternative.. there are a few good mail order bulk sellers.. musser forests come to mind ... google it... whether or not the tree you listed is 'good' ... you can do so much better ... frankly .. oaks are an investment for the centuries .... and i recommend them all the time .... do the job right the first time.. and you wont regret it later .... at the link below.. just reading the blurbs... there are at least 3 articles saying that they are invasive .... or otherwise problematic ... Personally , I despise Cherry Laurels . I have many , many - way too many - old growth ones and are they ever a pain in the neck . Their wood is very brittle and limbs will snap just like glass for no reason on a clear still sunny day . They send up suckers that run for miles . These are very difficult to pull up and will get into everything including your septic tank - no matter how far away it is . The trees have small white flowers that many people are allergic to = lots of sneezing and congestion . The black berries drop every where and make a squishy mess if they drop on a hard surface . Every single stinkin' berry /seed roots ! They do not do well in hurricanes and are hard to kill . Even after chopping them down , you will battle the new growth for years . They are highly drought tolerant and seem to have few pests or diseases . They grow very , very quickly and can become large trees - if they last that long before breaking - then you are stuck with a mishapen , ugly tree . And I haven't even gotten warmed up yet !

I reported a repair & had the service technician come out to check out the warming drawer. His explanation after verifying the temperature is correct is that the drawer is UL certified (Underwriter's Laboratory) & pretty much operating as designed -- not a direct quote. I told him that my assessment of the situation is that this is a design problem. KA has a great idea to add additional capabilities to the warming drawer (slow cooking -- works great, I can do multiple dishes simultaneously), but the drawer is commonly being insulated when placed under a single or double oven. KA does not design for serious cooks (for example, they design a maximum size 30" warming drawer so it will fit nicely under the oven stack). Serious cooks want & need their warming drawers more accessible. Thus I installed under my 36 inch KA cooktop (& scoop drawer). With the gaps left between the drawer & the spice pullouts I had the cabinet maker create filler panels on the island beside the drawer. I asked the technician to report my concerns. In the meantime I sent an email to KA & their net was working-as-designed, move the utencils (I have to use an oven mit with the metal handled utencils in the drawer after using the slow cooker function.) I have noticed a blog & I will attempt to get there over the next few weeks to see what response I get. Additionally, DH had some water heater insulation we placed on top of the warming drawer. Although it reduced the temperature a few degrees, I could still not hold my metal-handled utencils with my bare hand. The KD is asking the cabinet guy if a panel can be built above the warming drawer. If anyone else uses this feature on the KA Warming Drawer I'm interested in your experience.

I clean my ss 8 burner range with a dobie sponge and soap and water. Then I dry it a bit with paper towels. Then I use a microfiber cloth I bought that is meant to be used for Stainless Steel only. I use it dry to buff a nice shine back to the SS surfaces throughout my house and it works WAY better than any SS cleaner I have used (and which requires a LOT more elbow grease than my SS microfiber clot!) Not sure where I bought it, but I'm sure it is not hard to find something similar. On the other hand, my removable grates look well-used and I just can't get them back to new looking. But, they are "clean" and don't smell and I'm learning to just live with it, since I am a frequent cook and it is now a fact of my life! (Capital 8 burner Precision Rangetop - my only real complaint re: this rangetop is that the simmer is WAY too hot on all burners, although I have a feeling this can be adjusted.)
