Comments (8)Definitely look into these (link below) -- nice quality and won't break the bank: Love your George Nelson! I'm a huge danish modern fan and splurged on eBay for a vintage piece over my kitchen table (matches my copper countertops): You might want to take a gander on eBay, too? Comments (3)In this situation you should really pick out the exact fridge. French doors? side hinged? freezer drawers or door? you say standard fridge-but that can mean various things. You have wiggle room with fridge going to the left a bit, expanding some counter to the right of fridge[would be valuable]..but if you pick a certain model with depth or a certain door configuration, maybe not. It is a compact, small to average sized kitchen-I'd do a single bowl sink so you'd get more counter around sink. Try to shift the range one way or the other. Usually one sets up their cooking ingreds and items on one side or the other of the range-so that preferred side is much better a little bigger. The smaller side is handy-say for spoon rest/cookingoils/pot holders-smaller usage and "landing" of hot items/etc. Having 15-18 inches on one side of range and say 3 ft or so to spread things out for prep and cooking on the other side would be much better than 2 small segments on each side.Hope you really love your new home!...See Moreneed to make dishwasher decision quickly - please help!!
Comments (23)My first Hobart-made KA lasted more than 30 years. In fact, it was still working when I replace it. I bought another KA 13 years ago. It has worked perfectly and I did not replace it when I redid my kitchen. I did discover that when phosphates were removed from dishwasher detg that one had to first, clean out all the gunk left by the dishwasher gel (there are products for this and it may take more than one time to get it all clean, depending on how often you've run your dishwasher). Then switch to Finish PowerTab. I do rinse my dishes before putting them in the DW but that's only because I live alone and only run mine once a week - food would be dried and smelly if I didn't. I understand that the newer "water conserving" dishwashers take forever to run just the way washing machines now do. Progress? I like KA as I find it very easy to load in an organized manner. Yes, I DO put all the dinner plates together, and the salad plates, and the cereal bowls! Anal? Probably, but it works for me - can't stand a jumble in the DW....See MoreNeed to make dishwasher decision quickly - please help!
Comments (11)Try and fix your Old KA!! If you were OK with the noise level of your old KA, and happy with the way it cleaned, you will never be happy with anything currently available. My previous KA had a garborator and washed Really hot. Barely picked off the bones, never rinsed and always squeaky clean without using rinse aid. No filter to clean. my sister in law still has same model and I have told her to never let it go. Since the KA I have had a new Bosh and now a Miele 2 rack with cutlery basket. Both require dishes pre wiped as there is no garborator, rinse aid is a must as they don't have heating elements and the cycles are super long. But they are quieter. Bosh or Miele? Buy whichever brand will give you the best warranty. We got an everything included 5 year warranty as a promo on the Miele As for getting a new KA. I don't know. Replaced my old KA bottom freezer fridge with pretty much the same model. But it feels so cheap commpared to the Old KA even though it is the same layout. Rollers and baskets rattle and I can not get the door to look level. Very disappointed but few refrigerators are the right dimensions so I am stuck. Yes all the North American models are all the same company and it it looks like they are all poor quality....See Morehousebuilding126
