games needed...please help...
Comments (5)We just had our "Christmas Tree Cutting" party. My whole family (15 of us) all go to a tree farm and cut down our Christmas trees. Then we go back to my mom and dad's house for lunch and games. This year we played quite a few games. 1. put lots of different objects on a tray, hairbrush, matches, watch, magazine etc. (about 20-25). Cover the tray with a towel. Give everyone a paper and pencil. Now take off the towel and give everyone about 10-15 seconds to look at the tray. cover the tray up again and have everyone write down all the things they remember. The person with the most number of things right is the winner. My sister ran this game this year and she even had some bonus questions to break a tie, like what time was on the watch, what colour was the hat of the guy in the picture. etc. 2. The other one that was lots of fun was to put everyone into teams. Give each team a pair of mittens. The object of this game is for each member on the team to put the mittens on, walk up to a table with a bowl of candy and unwrap a candy from the bowl. When they have unwrapped the candy, they pass the mittens to the next person in line. Put out one candy for every team member. We did it with candies wrapped in cellophane, but to make it harder I would use foil wrapped candies. I hope you have fun, we did. Happy Holidays....See MoreClue Game Night Ideas
Comments (3)I think my table cloth would be that banquet paper on a roll....decorated with things like outlines of bodies....fake bullet holes, blood stains etc. Perhaps a height chart and have everyone photographed in front of it... Maybe people could be assigned names like Col. Mustard and Mrs. Peacock....and there could be a large brass candle stick on the table....as well as a knife, a gun a wrench etc. Yep been to a Murder Dinner....but the script for that comes with all ideas for the menu etc. How about a cake with a hack saw blade baked in it? Have fun! Linda C...See Moreneed help for menu for 30 men on Weds. night
Comments (26)I think I am in good shape for the party (clearly a reference to food prep). The gumbo is made and in the fridge. It has to be heated up and the shrimp and crab have to be added at the last moment. I've partially cooked the sausage so they can finish on the grill. If I didn't do that, my husband would char the heck out of them. I don't know how much gumbo my recipe makes, but to give you an idea, the serving bowl is 11 inches tall by about 11 inches wide. It should feed 25. Thus the 30 sausages. Hearty rolls, mustard... we should be all set. The spiced nuts came out great (thanks AnnT) and the pigs in blankets are waiting in the fridge. Brownies are done and a tray of oatmeal raisinet cookies are cooling. The rice will be last minute as it looks like I may have to hang around afterall (I am not complaining!) Tomorrow all I have to do is some last minute shopping for incidentals and maybe another batch of cookies. Thanks for all the help and entertainment. Jo...See MoreNeed Ideas
Comments (6)How nice of you to have a shower for someone. You've got a pretty good sized group coming. My children are grown and gone, but I still fondly remember the baby showers friends were kind enough to have for me. I probably won't be much help--just random thoughts. As for the prizes, decide how much you want to spend totally, divide by 8, and that's how much you can spend per prize. Other posters here will have lots of good ideas for prizes. (If I ever win a prize, I'm delighted no matter what it is.) Food can be just about anything but should be on the lighter side like salads if it is in the afternoon. I think the key here is to plan something that you can have ready a day in advance. Pasta salad? The last baby shower I was at--the mother of the expectant mom made a Boo-Boo Bunny for each of the guests as a party favor. Everyone was so impressed, and they are cute. Link below. Good luck, have fun planning it. I hope you can recruit some help, especially the day of. Here is a link that might be useful: Boo-Boo Bunny...See More- 10 years ago
