White cabinets with butcherblock + white island with white stone top?

I've found lots of examples of white cabinet kitchens with white counters and a butcherblock island, but i'm looking for the inverse. White cabinets everywhere with butcherblock countertops but white quartz or light granite on the island? If anyone has any examples please share!

Where will your sink be? I think butcher block is beautiful but I wouldn't put it next to a sink.

Sink will be on the wall, we would use this Ikea drop in double sink so there's a good buffer between the sink and counter. Our reason for doing it this way is it would cost $360 for the butcherblock and $850 for the slab of quartz for the island and we could install it ourselves. but doing it the other way would cost the same in butcherblock for the island, but $1750 for the quartz because we'd need cut outs, seams, and installation, etc.. plus we think the island will get the most wear and tear with seating, young kids, we'll probably prep as much as we can there, etc..

Hi - We have cabinets painted SW Dover White and Madre Perola quartzite. I LOVE the quartzite, it has a lot of white but also grey and taupe veining so it reads very warm and not too stark. The overall pattern is soft and not too dramatic, which makes it a bit like marble IMO (caveat: I don't think quartzite photographs very well, it totally stopped me in the granite yard, but I looked right past it when browsing their slabs online). There are also other white cab/white stone kitchens on here - momofthreeboys and firsthouse_mp come to mind - both are quartzite, I think. Good luck with the hunt! :-)

Lauren - what did you mean by not wanting your cooktop to "pop" out? Did you mean a black cook top on a white granite island? My sister has a white (induction) cook top and its very pretty. You might consider that with the white granite it you don't want to do black or soapstone.

I would suggest carrying the vinyl planks into the kitchen. That looks like colonial white granite, so I would go with white subway tile backsplash. Make sure to get samples of the backsplash to compare to your cabinet color and countertops (you wouldn't want a bright white backsplash with off-white cabinets). Also, depending on the variation in the actual slab of granite you chose, colonial white should work with most off-whites (BM Simply White, Cloud White, White Dove; SW Pure White, Alabaster, Snowbound are good examples of off-white). If you are set on tile, it should be from one of the colors in your granite and should not have a pattern. It's a good rule of thumb to have only one pattern in hard finishes (most tiles are blotchy in color which means they have a pattern). ETA: I don't see any reason why the island needs to have a contrasting finish. I will borrow this from Maria "boring now equals timeless later" :). You don't want each finish to be the star. In this case, the countertops have the pattern and will be the star and everything else will nicely support them. Then, your styling, décor, artwork, etc will bring the kitchen to life from there.

@Lisa I do have a question for you! The thing that concerns me about Cambria is the heat comments. I would never put a hot pan on any countertop. BUT what about things like an All Clad Slow Cooker? Moccamaster or Nespresso Coffee maker? Instant Pot? What things like this needs something under them to use? Air Fryer.. I would think Vitamix would be fine? I think it would look awful to always have something under the coffee make or Vitamix. The other things are not kept on the counter. I have never had to use something under them with the granite countertops. I don't Have to go with quartz. If I do go with quartz it will definitely be Cambria. I thought about going with marble but I am a messy cook! I still want to see your blue when I go back to the beach. (My husband seems to be set on Cambria white! But that might be more due to him being tired of ldiscussions about the countertop.)

I think it will look good either way, so I'd go with what you like best. That seems like a good plan. Just be aware that you would still likely have water along the back near the sink with children and doing dishes.

I think all the kitchens in the photos would look just as nice, if not better, with all butcher block. Wood is more comfortable and warmer for seating too.

We're doing almost exactly what you're talking about. Butcher block on the perimeter (with the Domsjo double bowl sink too!) and an island with Carrara marble. Unfortunately we haven't made quite enough progress to give you a good visual yet, but hopefully soon. Hopefully... :) I like the visual contrast of the wood and marble, and it made sense for us to place it as we are for both functional and aesthetic reasons, not to mention cost! I really wanted some marble in our kitchen marble, but we don't want to over improve for our neighborhood, and incorporating it in the island works with our buget. Our kitchen is a 12.5'x16.5" L-shape layout so marble on the perimeter was cost prohibitive.

One day those young kids will be doing homework and wood is a wonderful surface to work on. Remember you can always sand the wood and bring it back to life.
