Where to store Potted/Bare Root Trees

This fall I dug up some volunteers I got from other people, and picked up some trees in the "bargain bin". I also got Arbor Day Trees later then expected. I didn't get a chance to plant quite all of them. The bare root ones I stuck in pots. Where would the best place to store the potted trees be? The options are...

1.)On the back patio. They would be exposed to a lot of wind and southeastern sun. They would get rain and occasionally be watered.

2.) The Unheated Garage. No sun, no wind, no rain, no watering.

3) Within the Gratuitous Square of Fence/Disused Gape Arbor/Whatever. Some protection from wind and sun, they would get rain, they would NOT be watered.

4.) Plant them in a couple weeks when I have a day off...the soil may be frozen by then.
