40-minute Hamburger Buns

I made these last nite and they are great. So quick and easy.

My math sucks, so I made 16 buns instead of 12, so they're dinner rolls, vs burger buns, which is perfectly fine. I cut the dough in half, then in quarters, instead of thirds.

This is definitely in my keeper binder.

40 Minute Hamburger Buns (Taste of Home)

2 tbsp yeast

1 cup lust 2 tbsp warm water

1/3 cup vegetable oil

1/4 cup sugar (I used 2tbsp)

1 egg, beaten

1 tsp salt

3-3 1/2 cups flour

In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water and sugar. Add oil and let stand until foamy, 5-8 minutes.

Add egg and salt and enough flour to form a soft dough. Turn onto a floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic, 5 minutes.

Divide into 12 pieces, shape into balls and place 3" apart onto parchment-lined baking sheets.

Cover and let rise 30 minutes.

Bake at 375° 12-13 minutes until golden brown
