Comments (3)I've also had great experiences with their customer service, but I've also had that computer (or clueless foreigner in his native country) reading an e-mail and getting it all wrong. A follow up usually fixes it. :) The Call Me works great, as does the chat, though on that one, do anticipate foreign workers who don't really know what you're talking about. My recent issue, however, was when the delivery driver left a big heavy box with my parents' correct packages. It was for a street not that far away but where there's nowhere even a little way away to park, and it was just too big and heavy to go trotting down the sidewalk with if we'd rustled up someone to drive around the block (no possibility of waiting, either). Normal thought would be that they'd send someone to pick up the box and deliver it to the right place. The delivery services just park in the middle of the road and pay the fines as a cost of doing business. Because I didn't have an order number, because it wasn't my box, they said they couldn't do that. Couldn't. So I asked to speak to a supervisor. After waiting half an hour, I was told that the supervisor would call me back. Didn't happen. So I e-mailed. And got another e-mail back asking for the info on the label (i.e., so they could identify the order), then they told me to keep or ditch the box, that they couldn't pick it up because it wasn't my order!! I suppose I shouldn't be surprised, because the cost of restocking is so high that a lot of mass distributors like Amazon give all their returns, or all under a certain price, to jobbers to resell, getting no more than dimes on the dollar. I wasn't so happy with their policy on that, especially because the heavy wrong box was distressing my mother, and it would have been easier to dispose of if they'd come and gotten it. In general, however, their service is very good....See MoreExperience With Amazon Counterfeit Products?
Comments (59)I can't imagine *how* they could coerce a company that makes cat food to 'cheat' They are the 800 lb gorilla in the room. All they have to do is say, "You must do something to get our cost down to $x, or we don't carry your merchandise." There is a fair amount of wiggle room in specs on most things. Even for things like medications there are changes you can make and still fall within the lines. A non-walmart example: I very occasionally need to take cetizirine for allergic reactions. I've noticed that although the Publix brand zyrtec clone and the one I get from the Publix pharmacy are supposedly identical in dosage, there's enough difference that the one behind the counter works hugely better. I asked the pharmacist why that could be and she said that there is probably a micro difference in the dose and a difference in the inert stuff that makes up the tablet itself. But medically, they are considered exactly the same. If something as tightly regulated as medication can vary like that, you can be sure there's plenty of room to make changes in the proportions and fillers in pet food....See MoreWhat would you do? Comments (79)[For Mr Fudd] From 18 hours ago: JeCrigler, thanks for putting up Amazon's Customer Service number. I've noted it for future use. A few weeks ago I had a problem processing an A-Z Guarantee---suddenly my order number was invalid, and they kept insisting I contact the seller. Well, that only lead to an e-mail from Amazon letting me know that the seller was no longer with Amazon, and could not accept e-mails. The claim was only for $10, yet I spent 15 minutes trying to find a Customer Service number. Finally I found a way to get them to call me, and another 15 minutes to get my claim okayed and processed. Guess it is good that I so rarely have problems with Amazon to need to call them. ---------------------- I spent time trying to use the contact links provided through the A-Z Guarantee, that I was directed to use by Amazon in their e-mails, that were supposed get me through the claim process. The A-to-Z pages also have links you are supposed to use if there were additional problems. After answering some questions about the order that had problems, it was supposed to take me to their Customer Service page. But it would not because it claimed the order number was invalid. So I had to use a different method to contact Amazon's Customer Service to get my problem resolved. In comparison, Amazon was less trouble....See MoreOverdrive app - which devices are most compatible?
Comments (8)Vee, I greatly admire your resistance to both forms of punishment known as "treadmill" and "overdrive app". I tend to use them for an indoor combination of both walking and reading simultaneously which invariably leads to me becoming so engrossed with the latter, that I fall off of the back of the former. This leads to further embarrassment as while I am checked and fussed over by gym attendants, I am much more concerned with losing my place in the book. And while I confess that a comfortable spot full of natural light and pillows is much preferred, my insatiable appetite for chocolate ice cream demands that I make use of this medieval form of torture known, to some very few affectionately, as exercise.
