Where to find a comfy chair for bedroom??
Comments (16)I'm looking for a comfy chair with ottman to put in my bedroom that I can sit and read in. Of course, right now, I'd have to move the chest of drawers so I'd have room for it. I was just having a "discussion" about donating a Sauder tv armoire to SA and then I could move the chest of drawers that goes to my bedroom set into his room..then I could move my other night stand beside the bed where it's supposed to be and where I'll have better light to read by. Oh no, can't get rid of that tv armoire..he's got videos and audio books store in it, where would he put that? I'll show him where he can put it as there is stuff up in the top of his closet that I'm also donating to the Thrift shop. "There's more than one way to skin a cat!" If you find a picture of a chair that you think might be a perfect fit, take a picture to your local furniture store...a good furniture sales person might recognize it or if you see one in a thrift shop..sit in it and see if it's comfortable. Maybe it would be worth paying for an upholstery job or slipcovers if it meets your needs and budget....See MoreFinally, my Master Bedroom UPDATE !!!
Comments (38)Exactly, although I really appreciate your critique of my bedroom space. DH would not allow me to switch chest of drawers. That's his "side" of the room, bed, bench, lol. Y'all don't know what it took to talk him into curtains! Although, he has been pretty good throughout this decorating process. I did previously try to put the basket under the side table, but it is too tall with the pillows and would be a pain to get under to retrieve them. As for the air return, I cannot block it with anything that large and solid. You should have seen the dust on the solid painted screen. The heating and air guys were not thrilled with that, either. One of these days, I'll see the perfect console table to put there, but in the meantime, that's what I feel comfortable with and it's staying. I can't believe y'all have not seen these decorative screens as just that...decorative! Must be a southern thing. Anyhow, all I wanted to do is show you my newly revamped space because it is such a big improvement over what it was. Thank you for the kind words, tryingtodecorate. The color is Decatur Buff in the bedroom, and my fireplace wall is as well. I have considered painting that entire wall like the trim color, a paneled look like my previous home (seen below) and may do so when we replace the fireplace box (another story.) yayagal - We may sell, so come on!...See MoreSpare Bedroom: Need Bedding Ideas
Comments (54)Quick update and many, many thanks to everyone who offered ideas and suggestions: All bedding ordered on ebay, and all received. I ordered the RL comforter, top sheet, pillowcases and sham in the discontinued Putney pattern. The Sferra Bros. matelasse coverlet is also from ebay, another jynx find :) After spending hours in the two best Atlanta fabric houses (Lewis and Sheron and Forsyth Fabrics), I went to Lenox with my daughter and found the perfect---and I mean PERFECT---curtains at (of all places!) Pottery Barn Kids. We were there looking for a present for my nephew! $80 per panel for 96" length, lined curtains that can be used with drapery pins or directly on the pole. (I stuck them up on a rod I had around just to see what they'd look like.) At Ballard Designs Backroom I found a large mirror with useful hooks on both sides (this will have to be hung by our handyman) and a tall corner shelf. Both had minor scratches and were about 1/2 off. I brought up from the summer kitchen downstairs a table my mother had given me years ago, made of blue and white pottery shards, and brought up an extra Parsons chair to replace the kitchen French Country kitchen chair. I found the tan windowpane slipcover at Ballards, also. Two wall-mounted, swing-arm lamps have been ordered in antique brass for either side of the bed, and I am still looking for a candle lantern in dull brass to go on the right side of the armoire (to replace the clock) and another painting or print for the wall that joins that corner at right angles. Also looking for blue/white porcelain finials in a round ball shape for the wall lamps, and plan to unearth my Christmas plates and hang them this weekend! the table I already had:...See MorePlease help! Comments (11)My 6 yr old loves his Kura reversible loft bed with canopy from Ikea. He and my 3 yr old both enjoy having a ready made tent! https://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/80253814/ We have it in his 11'6" x 10' lengthwise along the 10'wall. It can be a normal bed or you can flip it into a mini-loft bed. In the loft bed mode you can put a mattress under it and create a bunk bed. We have it now as a normal bed since he just started regularly sleeping in it and have the jungle canopy on it. Length: 78 3/8 " Width: 41 3/8 " Height: 45 5/8 " Height under loft bed: 32 5/8 "...See Morebossyvossy
