About the loss of children and others

I saw this poem on another site and wanted to share it.

PLEASE SAY THEIR NAMES

The time for concern is over. No longer are we asked how we are doing.

Never are the names of our loved ones mentioned to us. A curtain descends, the moment has passed.

Lives slip from frequent recall. For others the drama is over, but for us the play will never end.

The effects on us are timeless. What can be said, they ask?

PLEASE say Their Names to us again and again!!

It hurts to bury their memory in silence. What they were in flesh is no longer with us, but what they are in spirit stirs within us always. Please understand we cannot forget.

We would not forget if we could. We do not ask you to walk this road. It's ascent is steep and the burdenis heavy. We walk it not by choice.

We would rather be with our loved ones in Spirit.

What we have lost you cannot feel. Please say Their Names, for they are alive!

We will meet them again, although in many ways we never parted.

Their spirits appear in sunrises and sunsets. To us they were and are real.

They are our loved ones, and we will continue to love them as we always have only more each day!!

PLEASE SAY THEIR NAMES!

To those who are suffering the loss of a loved one this year or even years ago, I know and appreciate the sadness, especially at what is supposed to be such a happy time. My heart reaches out to all of you, carrying a wish for peace. Susan

I've seen this and love it.

The first year, people were afraid to bring his name up (my husband), and if I did, they seemed very uncomfortable about it. The pain was just too raw.

As the years passed, we all started sharing memories. It was and is nice. I never want him forgotten.

Thank you for sharing it. Hugs to everyone missing a loved one this holiday season (and always).

May I ask his name and how long he has been gone, Miz?

I'll be thinking of you, Miz, and wish you well, as you remember the good things while a corner of your heart still harbors the sadness.
