What are you doing this weekend?
Comments (23)I'm finishing the crown molding in my dining room to keep me busy, since I can't stop obsessing about my kitchen remodel that will start in less than 2 months! I custom built the box beams and installed new lighting in a previously dark dining room. Redhead- I try to end nearly every day with lighting of candles and opening the wine- it's the only way I seem to get through the stress of the planning phase! I'll probably have to stock up on the heavy stuff once the kitchen remodel actually starts! dretutz- cyber hugs to you regarding your mother. My 87 year old mother just got released from the hospital- it definitely changes perspectives to realize she may not be with us much longer....See MoreWhat are you doing this weekend?

Haven't done much, finally pulled the "Love In a Mist" vine out of its pot on the porch, removed and saved the seeds from the dried seed pods; had some coffee and yellow watermelon for lunch; then got the grabber out and proceeded to pick up trash along the road. Someone either threw out a styrofoam cooler or it fell from a vehicle and smashed in the ditch. Half of the many pieces were in the ditch the other up on top in the farmer's field. I decided I'd pick up what I could reach. What a mess. I was halfway down the road when a neighbor stopped and told me to "Hop in!" she was headed to their sheep shed up the road and wanted to show me the meadow and how pretty it was with all the wild blooming weeds. So I lay down my trash bag and grabber inside my garden gate and went for a ride. They own 28 acres over there and I never knew it....See MoreWhat Are You Doing This Weekend?
Comments (16)I am making ice cream. FINALLY! Been wanting to make it forever, since I moved in here. Chocolate today, and strawberry tomorrow. Then I am inviting my ice-cream loving friends for an afternoon of enjoying the ice cream. :) I need a change. My foot is ok, but my whole being not so much. My German girl friend had a mediation meeting between her lawyer, his lawyer and him and a judge... and it didn't take the projected 4 hours, it took 8 hours. That damn soon to be EX of hers is a real stupid blankedy blank! At least, she held together well, and is ok with the outcome so far. Another meeting will come about, going about alimony, child support and visitation. My OKC Master Gardner Friend Jean died on Tuesday. Pretty devastating seeing her deteriorate as fast as she did, once she went in the hospital, and then even faster in the hospice house. Of course, the only good thing about it all is, Jean is no longer in any pain. The funeral is today. I started walking without crutches about Monday, and besides my foot really hurting the first day back on it... it is doing fine. The house really isn't coming along, as the funds are not here, and I need to be slow, as I am doing everything as I can pay for it. But the new ducts are in, and the new heater, and I am so glad, as it got cold enough for me to turn it on in the morning to get the chill off. I did finally get the whole house floors totally clean, which meant doing a bunch of furniture moving, where I was glad, there wasn't much. All the floors look GREAT, and the room where I took the carpet up, is OK, without getting it sanded down and totally re-done. I love the Bona products! They performed well, and made it all look really really good. I need to get back on my bike, but meanwhile I started swimming again. I will do a loop (on the bike) around the lake tomorrow afternoon (10 mile loop plus the ride there and back). I need to get out of this slump. Moni...See MoreWhat Are You Doing This Weekend?
Comments (42)So far I feel better today, just continuing sinus dripping down my throat that is driving me crazy. Yes, I am calling my doctor's office tomorrow and explain my symptoms and to see if I might have some more "physician time". How different than years gone by. While sweeping the rug in the bedroom awhile ago a very small plush cat toy - a mouse - got sucked up into the brush head and beyond! I immediately checked the sweeper bag, no mouse, tried to see into the brush head, no clog at the rollers that I can tell. There's plenty of suction through the hose still, but that mouse has to be somewhere. It's a brand new Roc canister sweeper ($$$). I hope I didn't damage it already....See More- 10 years ago
