Comments (21)I'm also wondering if the 15" deep wall cabinets won't be problematic with many over-the-cooktop microwave ovens, most of which specify maximum cabinet depth to be 13" or 14", even Whirlpool's (who makes Ikea's appliances). A deeper cabinet may interfere with the door swing at the far left that expects to extend beyond the adjacent cabinet door when opened and may infringe on the space slightly. With regular exhaust hoods that won't be a problem, but I wonder if some will look a bit ingrown surrounded by cabinets that extend 3" deeper from the wall than the hood was designed for. Many I've seen have surfaces around the sides and/or top that are designed to be flush with the surrounding cabinet fronts, which are normally 12" from the wall not 15". It appears the base cabinets will be offered with several top drawer depths. Is one of these going to be 6" tall to match many dishwasher panels on those that take cabinet panels but have exposed controls? (as well as many 30" undercounter oven control panels). Or are they trying to match an increasing number of dishwashers that have 4" tall panels rather than 6" with those shallow drawers? With either the Euro or US systems, I don't get what's so great about shallow drawers nestled within deeper drawers. Just seems you'll need to open two drawers to get at the lower section instead of one if you used separate drawers....See MoreIkea Sektion REVEAL!

Comments (8)Ikea now offers a choice of two drawer quality levels on most drawer sizes: forvara which is the cheapy, and maximera, which is closer to the old rationell in quality. Wonder why Ikea would downgrade the quality when it's their biggest selling point, imo? They do this constantly when they can get away with it. Ektorp sofas, for example, used to have down cushions, then foam cushions, and now crummier foam cushions. So now people complain that they're uncomfortable and people who've had one for a while wonder what they're talking about. Ikea's scale is like that of a big grocery store chain, where pennies on the cost of an item make a big difference in the bottom line, and since Mr. Ikea died and his son took over, they squeeze even harder....See MorePlease Help with IKEA Sektion Cover Panels
Comments (20)Hello, i was hoping someone can help me with a delimma i am having with my Ikea Sektion cabinets. As you can see in my picture, the drawer front on the left does not come all the way down to cover the rest of the base cabinet like the other two beside. The runner is all the way to the bottom, I’ve tried turning the little screw in the drawer but it doesn’t lower it enough to cover that white part at the bottom and I have installed the fronts according to the instructions. I did call Ikea trying to explain the issue and they said it could be a ”quality” thing and nothing can be done. But why would other cabinets in the series not be like this?? if anyone can help that would be greatly appreciated!! i am getting very frustrated and just want that little white patch covered....See More- 8 years agolast modified: 8 years ago
