Comments (41)My MFK experience is detailed here: Stove Overhang Prevents Drawer Opening - Help. https://www.houzz.com/discussions/stove-overhang-prevents-drawer-from-opening-help-dsvw-vd~3521420 Short discussion: they didn't take into account make/model information or photographs of my range when designing. They fit everything to the cooktop dimensions (which I provided). If we had framed doors (like my old kitchen) we'd be fine. With frameless + drawers, the top drawer wouldn't open. In our telephone consult, I said I was confident in my layout but wanted someone to validate walkways, openings, etc. She mentioned the importance of providing exactly the measurements + appliance make/model. I asked about curves, handles, door swing, etc. and she said that was why the make/model was so important, and when measuring just to measure the basic opening - don't try to add anything for clearance, fit, etc. That didn't really work out... I'm talking with them about a refund, to partially compensate me for my direct costs attempting to mitigate the flaw. I think this is reasonable; I'd really like to tear out and re-do (at their cost), but I recognize the value in trying to reach a compromise. They've been terribly difficult, denying any culpability, denying that we sent make/model information (even after I sent the original email and information packet), etc. I've initiated a refund request via PayPal which hopefully I can get some closure over. I will be posting a review once the refund (or lack) gets resolved, because I want to be as fair as possible in my assessment. Mistakes do happen. At this point in my process, I can only recommend you steer clear and avoid MFK. I'll add/amend if this changes....See MoreBasement Kitchen Reveal (Ikea)

Comments (46)Historian, I love small homes, ours is 1500 sq feet so pretty roomy for a 2 bd condo and by far the biggest house we've lived in but the kitchen was definitely not a good use of space originally. We don't have a garage or any storage aside from a couple reach in closets, so our next step is doing something more efficient with our closets - I may pop over to small homes for advice on that :) halfwaythere1 sure I'll check out your thread! writersblock, so far we're loving the range - but going from an old Whirlpool basic range we are bound to love anything new. But I do love the knobs on front so no reaching over hot pots to adjust burners (yet they are safety knobs so children can't reach up and twiddle). We haven't baked anything int he oven yet as we're still trying to burn off the new oven smell. On the weekend we ran it with sliced lemons in a pan of water inside (I heard that can help with the smell) and the exhaust on full and all windows open but I've very smell/chemical sensitive and could still smell it. So we'll have to give it another try burning off the smell before we can bake any food in there - does anyone have tips on speeding up that process? mama goose_gw zn6OH, yes the refresh really made it look nicer for the past couple years, but i just hated the cabinets, lack of storage, and poor layout so once we had the money saved up I've always wanted an Ikea kitchen! The counters were actually reasonable - $1300 for the slab and $3000 for fabrication/install/seal so $4300 total. And today the inspector signed off for our completed permit so we're all officially done! In fact he was very impressed by the job and especially loved the trash pullout and the contractor's work in general....See MorePlease Help with IKEA Sektion Cover Panels
Comments (20)Hello, i was hoping someone can help me with a delimma i am having with my Ikea Sektion cabinets. As you can see in my picture, the drawer front on the left does not come all the way down to cover the rest of the base cabinet like the other two beside. The runner is all the way to the bottom, I’ve tried turning the little screw in the drawer but it doesn’t lower it enough to cover that white part at the bottom and I have installed the fronts according to the instructions. I did call Ikea trying to explain the issue and they said it could be a ”quality” thing and nothing can be done. But why would other cabinets in the series not be like this?? if anyone can help that would be greatly appreciated!! i am getting very frustrated and just want that little white patch covered....See MoreDanielle Gottwig
