Comments (20)Kate~your Etsy store is great. The purses show well. I've always admired Teresa's work and her experience selling on Etsy. Other designers prohibit "showing" a quilt without written permission. There was a big hoopla regarding copyright law (interpretations) and Quilting Mags regarding the use of the patterns featured in the magazines - what we could and could not do with the patterns as a subscriber. At least one designer allows you to pay a premium price (very affordable) for the pattern rights to sell the purses for profit that she has designed. Copyright laws are complicated and I don't pretend to understand what you can and cannot do. I once had a client who was a Copyright and Patent Attorney Group - they specialized in Litigation. That's all they did! Some of their stories were very interesting!...See MoreOT a little bit - is it just me or is this not kosher? Etsy rant
Comments (23)Storklady, It is okay to raise the price of something once it's listed. A Seller can change the price as often as they want, with no time restrictions. Etsy does not control or dictate to us what something is priced at - we do. There is no bidding on Etsy, except in Alchemy, which is a site on Etsy where customers can list something they want, a purple tutu, for example, and ask other Etsians to bid on what they would charge to make the purple tutu. Then Sellers are bidding against each other for that particular sale. Etsy is a "buy it now at this price" business. But I still think it's poor ethics not to honor the original price of an item that a potential buyer has just inquired about. Especially one who was asked to wait to review more listings of similar items because she'd shown interest in those other items before making her final purchase. If it had been me, I'd have sold you that map, and all the other newly listed maps that you were waiting for, at the original price. But that's just me. I am not an aggressive saleswoman, just a conscientious one. I like repeat business, and that's no way to encourage repeat business, IMHO....See MoreEtsy Lighting and UL certification

Comments (13)Thanks for the feed back, I'm in line with what everyone is saying and agree 100%. It's been 3 days but I don't think she's away. What happened is I'm STILL working on getting valances for the kitchen and dining rooms and inquired about customizing some that she has photos of. Three days passed and she didn't respond. I wrote again saying if she wasn't interested to please let me know and I'd find someone else and she responded. She apologized saying she over looked my email. Understandable, as she's one of the busier shops so I thanked her, asked a couple of questions to which she responded to very quickly. Yeah! I thought. So I sent an email 3 days ago asking one last question before she set up a custom listing and crickets... Her pricing was in my budget and she has a lot of great reviews, all of which point to timely replies and work that is flawless, (sigh)....my luck with these stupid valances is just plain uncanny! My3dogs, I'm amazed that you waited months for something, you must have the patience of a Saint! BTW, you might remember my last post about the valances as you helped me with a fabric quandry. Well, I ended up changing the fabric again to this which also has a larger repeat, but boy it sure fits in the rooms beautifully. Now if I can just get the darn things made!
