To be SP'd this Spring
Comments (35)Mary, my Europeana had white canes (SO thick with PM) it's first few years. When I finally sprayed enough cornell formula on it to mostly clear up the PM, I decided I really disliked the rose. The clusters of tiny, red, unscented blooms were so heavy, the canes bent to the ground, and the general "look" of the bush was one that was about 1 1/2' high, and about 5' in diameter. I spent 3 years cringing, and I finally yanked it. Interesting with the Lunar Mist. Mine has been in the ground 2 years, but it was half eaten by gophers, so it's still trying to recover. I've seen about 3 blooms, and they haven't been impressive. I'll give it this year and that's it. I wasn't thinking about Garden Pity. Only 1 year old, but pathetic so far. It also gets another year, but I'm taking these posts into consideration. Oh Tammy, I LOVE my Bella Roma!!!...See Morethe grandiflora Janice Kellogg
Comments (3)The bustopher, I had Janice Kellogg for one season two years ago (it didn't survive the winter). There are a few pictures of my rose on HMF, the color indeed is very pretty - rich, deep red. I ordered a replacement rose from Edmunds and they already shipped it. I was really disappointed with the plant I received - the packaging is lousy - plastic bag was not tied and sphagnum moss and the roots were completely dry. Also I had to cut branches really low because of the brown pith color. I sent them an email with my complaint, but they never bothered to reply. Nevertheless, if you are more lucky and get a decent plant, Janice Kellogg is a very beautiful rose. Marina Here is a link that might be useful: Janice Kellogg pictures...See MoreOMG! Did you get your Edmund's catalog??
Comments (14)Well guys, I'm more than happy to enable you all! LOL I decided to change out one of the roses on that list above. I think I'll hold off on MADAME ANISETTE. Not sure where she will go. And I'm thinking maybe she'll show up at Lowes in the spring. The one I am changing to tho is COLOR MAGIC. I lost mine several yrs ago, and got a replacement one earlier this yr from Heirloom (or was it RVR?)... anyway, it was obviously own-root. Well, it died on me the other day. I think I'd rather have it grafted. Still gotta send the order in. Then, I wanna do a small order from Hortico, seeing as how they have to replace a couple from last yr that were the wrong roses. I have to pay the shipping, so figured I'll order a few more roses.... They have a bunch of DAs that they didn't have last yr. I gotta fill in the apricot/yellow bed with a couple more... Also wanna do a small order from J&P once they get the rest of their roses added on. I really don't need any more roses... LOL but I lost a very large amount this past season so I have quite a few open spaces to fill in. We'll all have to compare our PRINCESS CHARLENEs next yr!!...See MoreEdmunds Catalog
Comments (8)Ken , I was so excited to see they also had sweet mademoiselle . Regans sold out and I was getting twitchy that I wouldn't find it ! I also ordered princess Charlene , bolero , moonlight romantica , and mother of pearl . And with that I am officially done , except for David Austins which I ask for a gift card for Christmas. I am done , ya hear me? ....oh wait is that on sale ? ;)...See MoreCindi_KS
