Comments (16)Thank you, Donna. You completed your goals! Good for you. Hope your mom is getting better. I know how tiring it is to try and keep track of what's going on with parents when they're in the hospital/rehab/nursing home. quiltnhen/LindaB/CA, Yes, it is miserable and I am surprised by the sewing I got done this month, since I can only sew maybe a half hour at a time. Me, too, Sue. Don't feel bad about not getting done what you would have liked to. I know if they were necessary to do, you would have gotten them done. Snap bags: I've wanted to see how those were made.....maybe a class at retreat next year? I also made a Dec lotto block, but can't get all the paper off of the back....probably won't be sending it. Working on black is no longer fun for me, but I think that's the only way this particular block could look so awesome! SharonG/FL...See MoreSeptember, 2015 Quilting/Sewing Goals
Comments (12)Beth, So far, I don't see anything 'wonky' about this. I don't think I've ever seen Prairie Points that weren't used at the edges of a quilt, so this sounds interesting and I'm looking forward to seeing this completed. FWIW, I used seersucker as a backing on my now 26 year old DGS's baby quilt. It was washed almost weekly for the first 6-8 years with no problems, and used sporadically after that. A few years ago, my DD told me that as a teenager and when he still lived at home, he would get it out when he didn't feel well and wrap up in it. Yes, he does have a larger quilt, but this is the one that comforts him the most. Anyway, that seersucker fabric stayed the course. lol...See MoreOctober, 2015 Quilting/Sewing Goals
Comments (11)I would love to get these 2 baby clothes quilts done! I do finally have a plan. I found a layout of different size blocks and cut all the sizes out in muslin. I'm then cutting the clothes to fit on the muslin blocks and will assemble. I was having a really difficult time figuring out how to cut the clothes to work together, especially since the mom said she wanted different size blocks. I keep getting side tracked on so many other fun projects I also have going, like by Sewn Seeds quilt. I'm loving that quilt!! And I just about have my new long arm all put together and some test fabric purchased so I can start playing!! My 14 yr old son even wants to play on it. I may have a new helper???? And I still have a hand applique project I'm working on (wall hanging of the Old Point Loma Lighthouse). Slow but sure on that one. Robbi...See MoreDecember, 2015 Quilting/Sewing Goals
Comments (20)The memorial service was Monday and I took the 15 heart pillows of various sizes (2 at 12" and the rest smaller) that I had made out of some chenille that Katie had given me. I was making them for her mother, sister and girl cousins, but the aunts and a few others wanted one. I made sure those out of state was able to have one and I made 9 more today for those who were left out on the first round. I have 4 more pillowcases made, 3 more in the 'hot dog' stage and 3 more kitted.......and I still can't find my list! I better get moving cause we're having our family Christmas on the 20th.........it really isn't that far away! Yikes!!!...See Morenannykins
