Halloween packed away and fall back out
Comments (9)MM, beautiful table and cp. I'm lovin' the copper colored pumpkins on your sidecabinet. Did you buy them like this or paint them? I can see this is what I need to show off my copper candleabra. Thanks for the idea. Very pretty fall back door wreath. Your beautiful black china cabinet just took my breath away. Awesome job decorating it for fall. Great shot and love it all lit up. As Candy said "IITDF!" Hope you will continue to decorate this with us during the seasons (in your spare time).haha The platter is so pretty and I really like the grapes you placed in front of it. Nice touch. Love those lamp shades and fall table runner on your sidecabinet. That bow is awesome. What is behind it that's all fanned out? I may need to copy that too.LOL Enjoyed seeing this "All things bright & beautiful" as Jeanne stated, this morning. Punk...See MoreFall Back and Don't Forget the New Time!
Comments (11)I'm an early bird amy, so don't like to sleep late, but 4 am is ridiculous. I went in to the family room about 7 to see if there were any good movies on and promptly dozed off. I just woke up again, ack!!! Now I'm going to be floopy all day ;) I'm going to get moving and head outside. The end of the season here is looming, in two days our night temps will drop into the 20's and highs in 40's during the day. :/ I've already prepped the pond for winter and cleared the vegetable garden, but am about to yank out my remaining annuals. It's going to kill me. Doing it today because I can't bear the thought of doing it in cold temps and possible snow coming. I feel so lucky to be in Z5 and still have roses, herbs (my Lemon Verbena and Pineapple Sage are huge) and annuals blooming in Nov., an extra month of my passion !! ;D...See MoreOT, but don't forget to 'fall back'
Comments (6)I hate that it gets dark so early now. Me too. Next month it will be dark at 4 PM. I'm a slug without sunlight and can run like the Energizer Bunny on long days in June. Becoming a snowbird looks better every year :D Does anyone else get thrown off by the time change? Don't know if I have a weird bio-rhythm or an acutely sensitive internal clock or what, lol. It feels like jet lag. It even happens when I travel back home, an hour difference in the time zone. Takes a good few days to 'adapt'. Just curious if anyone else experiences that?...See MoreOT Falling Back or Springing Forward?
Comments (12)Judging by your comments we would all be much happier if the clocks stayed where they were. In the UK there is always an ongoing debate as to whether Scotland should have its own time-zone as it has such reduced hours of daylight in the winter. In 1940, double daylight saving was introduced in Great Britain to enable farmers to have longer time for gathering in the harvest, often up to about 11pm. These days our local 'estate' (very large land-owner) has men ploughing, harvesting, drilling etc by tractor headlights until a job is finished. This is to make the most of the occasional dry-spell in what has been a disastrous year 'weather-wise' for farmers. Ann I like your 'fading curtain' comment. Rather like the simple souls who worried at the changes to the calendar in 17??. "Give us back our eleven days" thinking they would now die 11 days earlier. ;-)...See MoreAnnie Deighnaugh
