Driving long distances alone
Comments (57)I too am surprised by how many long distance drivers we have here. As I mentioned in my other thread, I recently did a 6 hour drive to see a very ill cousin and was surprised how well I did. I won't give details again here, but I had a fear of driving a lone for some time even having anxiety attacks before trips when hubby was driving us all as short a distance as to see his folks a little over two hours away. When young I went on very long road trips with girlfriends and did most of the driving myself. I'd love to go on a trip like that again, where we had no schedule what so ever and stopped anywhere any one of us wanted. I'm an avid photographer and for me, that's the only way to travel. Well unless someone else drives all the way and I can take loads of pictures from the moving vehicle, which I did when our daughter and I drove back from Northern Cali having to go south because of snow storms in the mountains. That was a three day trip and she drove every single mile, while I took photos and kept her awake talking. She told me early one that she didn't mind driving as long as I was there to talk to. It was an awesome trip....See MoreLong distance architect
Comments (29)Hi Pensacola...we are so very early in this whole process. Not planning to build for 2+ years. don't want to bother anyone at this time. But I am just lurking around this forums easing, learning and posing questions. However, We just purchased our lot, so that's exciting. An issue we have here in Ontario Canada. Is that all plans drawings designs etc. must be approved by a provincially licensed person i.e. Architect Etc.. It's the only province in this dang, country that has this requirement. So, regardless, even if an exceptionally talented pro from another province or country designed a home to be built in Ontario, it would still not be accepted here. The designer needs to have his/her own building code identification number, which requires additional studies/exams and of course this is in addition to other formal education/quAlifications. No BCIN = No building permit....See MoreMoving long distance with Hibiscus Tree
Comments (3)If it's in one of what we folks call a "winter dormancy , which I'm not even sure is the real situation of our nearly static hibiscuses in winter , when growth has slowed to nearly non existent , and yours wouldn't be of course , it might suffer major leaf loss from the lack of light , at the very least , that could be a major shock to it , and it might fight it's way back , especially if it can remain outdoors for what remains of summer months , but if being indoors right away due to fall through early spring outdoor conditions I do wish you the best luck ....See MoreGetting advance info long distance
Comments (24)As a real property appraiser, I'd avoid that company. You will be much better served to have a local realtor provide this service. They usually do it for free if you are considering listing your property for sale. Any valuation that an online data service is highly suspect. All real estate is local. Valuations can vary widely and are subject to bad data. Keep your money. Valuations will be worth as much as a Zillow valuation. That's not much....See Moreloonlakelaborcamp
