We are living in Costa Rica and have inherited a whirlpool washer model number 7EWTW1300YM0 that has many issues. The current one is serious. After adding an item mid filling cycle and shutting the lid the washer would not restart and ever since (when plugged and replugged) will click lock, click unlock, click lock, click unlock with the red lid locked light flashing. Eventually it stops but the machine is paralyzed with nothing but the red lid lock light on.
I think the most pertinent information is I have run the diagnostic tests and with the Auto test everything is working fine. The error codes seem to change every time I fiddle with it but the original two were F5E1 and F5E3 both lid switch and locking and unlocking errors. When I go to the manual testing, the locking mechanism works fine lock, unlock no problem. When going to page 18 in the manual for Test #8 Lid Lock J15 appears to be in working order though it seems that the only issue can be a malfunction of the control panel (and J15) as the locking mechanism works (when checked manually). So after we unplug and re plug the machine.....click lock, click unlock, click lock and click unlock and nothing. Being in rural Costa Rica it is not easy to find parts so if that was the path that I must take I really want to be sure that it is the right part! Please help if you can as I have read so many similar posts but none seem to be able to help solve our problem.

I have the 30” GE Profile induction cooktop that was installed just four months ago. Yesterday, it mysteriously froze up. None of the burner controls would activate. Even though the control lock was unlit (supposedly indicating the cooktop was ”unlocked”), we were unable to get the burners to turn on. I discovered this thread and subsequently tried the ”palm method” as well as the ”forearm technique” all to no avail. Frustrated, I then flipped the breaker off and left it off for a couple hours. When I turned the breaker back on and checked….voila! The cooktop appears to have reset itself and is now functioning normally. We’re happy campers once again. I guess the moral of the story is: Check online and find your issue and then exhaust the remedies before calling for service. Cheers all!!

I am assuming you are referring to the bottom taskbar and you would like it to be double width rather than single. Do you have the Quick Launch toolbar activated? If not perhaps this is why. My Quick launch is active and sits over top of any programs I have opened and showing on the lower portion of my taskbar.

Have you looked at it in person? When I did, even knowing where it was I couldn't find/feel the seam with my fingernails. They're VERY tight. We used Wilsonart Estate Plus click together laminate in our last house. My dh is absolutely fanatical about protection from water damage and he was convinced that that product didn't need to be glued, that the lock created enough waterproof overlap that water would never be a problem. (He installed it, so knew how well it locked..It's not just butted up, so that liquids could go straight in...it'd have to go down, across, up, down and around some more...) We had it in our kitchen, entry, and dining room and it was trouble free. We are pretty convinced the Marmoleum Click would be as good...Now if they only had some browns...(I'm not thrilled with the limited color choices) All that said, I don't think it would be a quick and easy task to unlock some to dry them out... They really lock! I haven't been able to get two apart that were loose and in my hands, much less down on a floor and locked to several rows. I hope a real flooring expert weighs in for you. But, in the meanwhile, I hope this is helpful.

I seemed to have solved the door lock problem. I had the same door lock error. A technician came and said that by the sound of the clicking, in his experience it was not the door lock mechanism but the circuit board (which caused the door not to lock). He didn’t have the part, it would take 4 days to order and would cost $270 plus tax! He said the machine at 11 years old was “very old” and I should buy a new one!! He said that all of these things (circuit boards etc.) break down over time due to moisture in the air. He also said: “I can’t do the following because we can’t warranty it, but if you slide off the top of the washing machine (there are only 3 screws at the back top), and get some ‘contact cleaner’ and clean all of the contacts, it may well work”. I didn’t have any contact cleaner so simply took out and put back in about a dozen connections (after first unplugging the machine). I plugged the machine back in and tried the machine and it worked! And I still get the dl/F door lock error message every 3-6 months, but every time, I remove and plug back in the connectors and every time so far (2 years) it then works. Good luck!
