CAN ANYONE IDENTIFY THIS HUERNIA ??

I have had this huernia for maybe 10 years, and it grows like a weed, and takes full sun, the flowers are maroon with millions of yellow dots on the bloom. You can see by the pictures ,the flowers are 'star shaped', with 5 big 'star points' and 5 smaller star points' on the bloom, making ten 'points'. They are not 'papery', but they are thin. And about the size of a nickel. No smell to them.

The stems are stiff green, the 'spines' on it are a bit firm, but not like cactus spines. But not like the usual soft rubbery spines like on other huernias.. I had another one like this one, it was a mirror copy of it. The flower were yellow with millions of maroon spots on it! It died long ago and I lost the tag for both almost right after getting them. Does anyone have any idea of what cross this might be? This is one of my huernias for trade for others or for the 'reed orchids' I have a 'wanted post' for now. Thank you.

Felix I got a mysorensis in March from Gardinos.(rare flora) Was just a tiny little thing but only cost 4 bucks. It has now made it to the top of the shadehouse about 10 feet. I'm hoping it's not as aggressive as some of the other members of the family. Want it to provide some shade for the shadehouse but not smother it lol. Only one I've seen in flower was at Butterfly world fantastic flowering habit!! gary

It's a Gentleman's Dresser. You don't often see them intact these days. They usually are long parted out. In our family, we have the chest and the mirror, but the ornate mirror surround and two smaller side cabinets are long gone to who knows where. Candles were often placed on top of the side cabinet to illuminate the user in the mirror. It looks to me that all the hardware is original and, as you can see, the drawers are beautifully made. Some have only one of the smaller side cabinets placed off to the side. Some also have "Eastlake" style spoon carving on the drawer fronts and top of the mirror surround. In the case of our pieces, my Grandmother followed the trend of the 1930's and painted that beautiful oak pink followed later on with white. I had it stripped and refinished back to the original "golden oak" in the early 1990's. If I had to guess, this piece was original offered through the Sears catalog. You may be able to determine if that's true with a little research. i have that one it is black and yellow it is great and expensive!!!!! I finally learned to grow this Saudia one, and have it ti trade for other RARE huernia/orbeas and such. Now mine grows great and blooms freely. It was a bugger to grow the first 3 plants. Now i have 3 small plants,but they grow/bloom great.

Do you grow it outside in Florida, or in pots? Really cool looking one! I have to learn more about this species!

it is outside in full sun all day all year. it is in a coconut fiber basket with cactus soil. it took over the basket,it grows down through the soil and it is now all plant,doubt thee is any soil left in it now. Just lost its name and would like to know it. would love to get the yellow one with maroon spots all over it,but will settle for the name of this one.
