This REALLY bothers me - Ebay
Comments (10)Too funny, GG! My head did actually come very close to exploding when I saw that it had sold because I was so angry on behalf of the buyer...but I've since thought about it & while I have made mistakes, like getting caught in the heat of the moment & bidding too high on an item, I have never (to my knowledge) purchased a completely different plant because I try to make my purchases with knowledge & if that buyer didn't do that, well, it was their responsibility so...but the seller was still VERY slimy in every way for doing that. I don't know how they sleep at night. Mike, the same thing happened to me about 6 months ago! I sold a few things online, starting about 3 years ago...I'd spent a lot of time staging & taking very professional looking photos. I had to take my listings down for a while to fulfill other responsibilities but fully intended to put them back up some day, and to use those same photos...well, what do you know, someone selling a similiar product found one of my photos in the Google archives and was using it to sell their product. I contacted them & asked them to remove the photo from their listing and, luckily, they did. I think that's why I get so upset when I see things like that. It seems really common. I would be pretty upset if it were someone I had respected & had been cultivating a friendship with......See MoreThis is beginning to bother me...
Comments (82)Wrong, Paul. they absolutely, for sure, scientifically- exhibited, field-operation tested, LOVE moldy stuff. God, and myself, and millions...if not billions, of others know the truth. Now there's a "moderate" comment... So... If I understand the above assertion correct, the "truth" is that all I have to do is get something, anything on the planet regardless of its toxicity, to mold, and it is rendered the equivalent of "the little blue pill" for worms? While I am comfortable making fairly strong statements about the likelihood of something happening, I have long since learned the danger of asserting knowledge of absolute truth. The danger I am concerned with is not of being wrong when the inevitable more "truth" is revealed, but rather of misleading others before that "new" truth is discovered. Good thing the "truth" of this matter has been "scientifically exhibited" to "millions" and possibly "billions". I'll make an assumption of hyperbole for emphasis, there. Comments (33)If you find yourself 'being different' ALL the time, are you simply being oppositional? How likely is it that one person disagrees with a group of others about so much? You are, of course, welcome to your views, whether they are real or simply meant to oppose. Lucille, thanks for your calm and well-stated comments. No, I'm not being oppositional. I'm male (one of few here), I'm younger than the majority of participants, and there are several other demographical differences that others' comments highlight to me. And I'm a hybrid A-B personality, I'm not passive. I want to resolve ASAP problems or issues I face, I don't accept the status quo about anything. These factors make it very likely that my reaction to a situation someone describes on this forum will often differ from that of others. I offer my views, when they differ, as another perspective or counterpoint to consider. To me, a litany of comments of agreement or concurrence to what someone else has said that are common here add little to a discussion. PS - Thank you too to joyful guy....See MoreThis is really bothering me.
Comments (49)Along the lines of what gyr_falcon posted about having problems with the process of euthanasia, my first experience with it was an absolutely terrible experience. This was at a high-tech vet with all the bells and whistles and I would have expected so much more from them.. They did not make my dog comfortable, nor did they sedate her- it seemed like they just needed to get the job done to clear up the room for the next patient. It was appalling, but I didn't know better. My vet now is great. I've sadly been through the process 2 more times since and have experienced unrushed, compassionate, and peaceful, though sad passings. Is it possible that your sister did not know what to expect? Or had heard horrible experiences and felt that her kitty's suffering was not as bad as what might happen at the vet? I'm inclined to think what someone else said, which is that your sister will probably never allow another kitty to suffer that way. Sometimes it's hard to know what to do in the moment. I spent a lot of time thinking about how to approach the next one after the terrible experience with the dog....See More- 11 years ago
