Making a shopping list....
Comments (16)I am assuming the wooden spoon is to stir, but what am I to do with the brick? Threaten my husband with it when is laughing at me about this endeavor? :) It would have been a way cheaper shopping trip if he hadn't bought maglites and who knows what else. I found the perlite today, I will try it tomorrow evening. I decided the 18 X 18 planter would be too small on the inside, so going with a bigger box set up. Good my husband insisted on me buying the wire mess, after all. Is the reinforcing on the boxes with duct just a few wraps around the box, or am I covering the whole thing with duct tape? I have got about everything I think: perlite, peatmoss, an 80 lbs bag of premixed cement, and a really big cooler pad that is made of some shredded something that my husband has decided would be good to try too. For all his ridicule, he has alot of opinions on how I should be going about this. Then my MIL has a bag of some sort of cement she is bringing to donate to the cause. I was worried I would run short on supplies midway threw whipping it up, but now I think I need more molds. So, now I have another question: If I am using the wire mesh to reinforce the planter, do I make it go all the way around the planter and across the bottom? or am I just reinforcing the length of the corners? Comments (1)I have and LOVE "Out of Milk". It is a shopping list. Until very recently it was only available for android (which I have), but I got an email yesterday telling me that it is now available for iphone (which DH has). When he got the iphone, I got his android and he was pretty bummed that he couldn't have Out of Milk. He had tried some of the other shopping list apps, but really liked this one best. It is free, but you can get more options if you purchase for a minimal $1.99. He downloaded it yesterday and played with it for a bit. You can also make changes to your list online and it will sync with your iphone. Can't help with anything other than the shopping list....See MoreFavorite iphone app for To Do lists?
Comments (20)Okay, my whole to-do list is now on Workflowy. It could not be easier to use. I like it a lot. I had my kids d/l it too. I am a big fan. I was happy that it was relatively painless to cut and paste it from my docx file. I ended up upgrading to Workflowy pro, which will automatically backup my list to a drop bpx, enable me to edit offline, and also gave me additional fonts and themes for the look of the app. Pricey, though, at $49/yr. On that last point, I think they could really improve the looks. Even with Workflowy Pro's extra choices, the look is very spartan. And the themes were designed by a 13yo boy I think. It sounds minor, but it isn't. It will be something I look at every day. How tough is it to allow different background colors and fonts? Two other comments. One, Any. Do has voice recognition. That is very handy; they should add it. Two, I think items on the list that have due dates associated with them could be handled differently. Right now you can tag them with a hash tag, but I think you they should make it easier to associate and item with a due date, perhaps using a drop down calendar. Comments (32)I might try Anylist, but I hate typing anything on my phone, and so if it requires much typing, I will never use it. I'm fine typing on a regular keyboard, however, but I never type with my thumbs, other than the space bar. What would be nice would be a list to keep inventory of what is in the refrigerator and pantry, along with expiration dates so that I will know when I need to use certain things. In the past, I have bought too much pasta and forgot to use it before its expiration date. I'm better with flours because I use them frequently, or else store them in the freezers. I have several fountain pens and four different colors of fountain pen ink, and so I like to write my lists with pens. I used to write my grocery lists in Russian and German, partly to help retain my vocabularies and partly to help with my German and Cyrillic calligraphy. One roommate I had would get very irritated when he would find one of my grocery lists written in Russian, and so I made a point of leaving them around so that he could find them. My brother and I still write all our lists on paper, but I use pen and cursive, and my brother uses pencil and prints. I find cursive to be much faster, and I'm very good at it. We get free notepads from real estate agents almost every week and find those very useful for our grocery lists....See Moreravencajun Zone 8b TX
