help with Trendnet Wireless router
Comments (11)if the pc has wireless capability built in then all you would need to do is disconnect it from the router by the wire and see if it finds the wireless connection if it has everything it needs (and is enabled) then you should see in the bottom right by the clock where it is trying to connect just like you would on a laptop, you would need to enter your network passphrase into the box that pops up to allow you to connect to your network. I just looked up the specs listed for your p6310 and the networking options for it are as listed Choices: Integrated 10/100 Ethernet, No wireless LAN Modem Premium Wireless-N LAN card Wireless-N LAN card Premium Wireless-N LAN card and Bluetooth(R ) unless you chose the first one that says no wireless then you should have that capability on the pc. I would run a belarc and get all the info specific to your pc you can always print it out and keep it because that info is often needed and having it on hand can come in very handy. That way you know exactly what is in that pc. Belarc If your pc does not have the card for wireless then you can either add a card or get a usb device....See MoreHow to by-pass wireless and use ethernet diretly to router
Comments (9)I warned you I was computer rookie. Here is what I know: 1. I have two computers. One that is set up for wireless( laptop) and one that is an older computer no wireless and is hooked up to the router. 2. Both of them work connecting to the internet 3. My older one has issues and is very slow so I mostly use my laptop. Professor said something about his blackboard and wireless has problems time to time 4. I have the cable from the wall from the cable company that is hooked to their modem and then through an ethernet the older computer has a cable from router to it. 5. I wanted to do the same thing with my laptop. I tried disconnecting the olderr computer to the router and plugging the laptop in it's place but it still appears it is using wireless( because when I disenabled wireless) it wouldn't hook to internet I don't know how to check wireless settings to accept all like somebody recommended thanks...See MoreWireless Broadband Router won't connect

Comments (10)This is what he got me - from the box: SMC Networks Wireless Cardbus Adapter "Supports blazing wireless communcation at up to 108 MBPS." Advanced Wireles Security, includes Wi-Fi Protected Access. For Home and Small Office Networking. "Share your existing cable connection with multiple computers by addind a high performance Barriade g Router with USB Print server" Don't know about the last part, I could live without the print server, I just want to be able to work and browse in other rooms in the house besides my basement where the cable connection is. As for the memory card - I went to the "Crucial" RAM Scanner Web site as recommended by Zep516 on a previous post that I found through the search menu. I clicked on the Crucial System Scanner, and it said: Maximum Memory Capacity: 1024MB Currently Installed Memory: 256MB Available Memory Slots: 1 Number of Banks: 2 Dual Channel Support: No CPU Manufacturer: GenuineIntel CPU Family: Mobile Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 2.40GHz Model 2, Stepping 9 CPU Speed: 2392 MHz Each memory slot can hold DDR PC2700,DDR PC3200 with a maximum of 512MB per slot.* So I couldn't remember the exact number of what I have, but what I have is 256 MB of currently installed memory and one empty "slot."...See More- 10 years ago
