lgmd_gaz You are so good to have so many feeders in your yard! We cannot even feed the song birds because of European Starlings that hog everything and made a terrible mess besides.

pink_warm_mama_1, over 30 or so years of bird feeding in 3 different states, we have endured plenty of Starlings. This year is the first year that I can say that they haven't worn our patience thin. Don't know what has made the difference, but since their usual spring return to this area in March this year, their appearance at the feeders has been just a few at a time and they are quickly gone for weeks at a time. Usually if we put suet out they seem to come out of the woodwork, but that hasn't even drawn them in this summer.

party_music50, that is perfection, and there ain't nothin' wrong with the other works of Mom Nature's art today. Ain't Mom Nature good at what she does!

As for mine, I couldn't decide.

Murraysmom, we lived near a small lake in Michigan, and the big visitors at the bird feeders there were Canadian Geese. The resulting "goose grease" in the yard was awful. Pigeons do make themselves evident wherever they roost, so wouldn't want them visiting the feeders. I haven't become acquainted with Turkey poo yet. Don't know what it looks like.

lgmd_gaz - Are you speaking of European starlings? I have been feeding birds for over fifty years, also in different states, but had never run into these before. They are large, ugly and dreadful, spraying feces as they fly through our deck, and just generally obnoxious.

pink_warm_mama_1 , yes, European Starlings. We were over run with them in Michigan, Ohio, and here in Pennsylvania. They are and do all that you say! I wish I knew what has made the change this summer. We always had them throughout the year, but more so in spring, summer and fall. The numbers would drop a lot over the winter only to return with a vengeance in early March, along with the grackles which can also be overpowering at the feeders.
