Comments (11)I've heard Igmd_gaz's bug called an assassin bug, and remember seeing them in southern Ohio back in the 1980's. It was on the list of "beneficial bugs" that we weren't supposed to kill when we were making the bug collection for high school biology class. I know their South American relatives can be some bad mama-jamas, and are indirectly responsible for the death of Charles Darwin, but I thought the ones in the eastern US only ever sucked bug juice from bugs....See More
10 years agoFall in Minnesota is in full glory. In the last week, we have driven hundreds of miles enjoying the scenery. North within 50 miles of the Canadian border. These were taken within five miles of home.

10 years agoYour lavender Plectranthus is beautiful susanwv! Those 'Mona's seem to bloom forever. Yours is obviously a very happy plant. Great group of photos again today--cool bridge setting, autumn color [sadly lacking here :( ], and fun shots.
This neighborhood cat was not very skilled at tree climbing in the first place, and on this day, was getting doubly insulted by an attacking mockingbird. Poor cat; what a rough morning he was having!

Our hunt club had a joint meet with another group from Pennsylvania this past weekend. I got there just as everyone was coming back in to go to the tailgate brunch.
