Comments (14)pink_warm_mama_1, over 30 or so years of bird feeding in 3 different states, we have endured plenty of Starlings. This year is the first year that I can say that they haven't worn our patience thin. Don't know what has made the difference, but since their usual spring return to this area in March this year, their appearance at the feeders has been just a few at a time and they are quickly gone for weeks at a time. Usually if we put suet out they seem to come out of the woodwork, but that hasn't even drawn them in this summer. party_music50, that is perfection, and there ain't nothin' wrong with the other works of Mom Nature's art today. Comments (10)While photographing a cemetery yesterday, I came upon this unexpected sight. It was sad . . . the deer had a badly broken leg and appeared to have internal damage, undoubtedly hit by a car. But somehow she made it into the cemetery, where she died. If I hadn't found the deer, which hadn't been dead long, I don't know when it would have been found. The cemetery is old, and I don't imagine it attracts many visitors. Comments (7)Holland America Lines has among their 'alternative' dining spots a restaurant named Canaletto. Italian dining. $15 each. They also offer Pinnacle Grill, a steak and seafood venue. $29.00 each. Pinnacle is very popular and, in my opinion, somewhat expensive for what one gets. Canaletto is more intimate and a good value. We prefer Canaletto. For our upcoming 42-day cruise, they will offer Osso Bucco. Yum!...See More
10 years agoFall in Minnesota is in full glory. In the last week, we have driven hundreds of miles enjoying the scenery. North within 50 miles of the Canadian border. These were taken within five miles of home.

10 years agoYour lavender Plectranthus is beautiful susanwv! Those 'Mona's seem to bloom forever. Yours is obviously a very happy plant. Great group of photos again today--cool bridge setting, autumn color [sadly lacking here :( ], and fun shots.
This neighborhood cat was not very skilled at tree climbing in the first place, and on this day, was getting doubly insulted by an attacking mockingbird. Poor cat; what a rough morning he was having!

Our hunt club had a joint meet with another group from Pennsylvania this past weekend. I got there just as everyone was coming back in to go to the tailgate brunch.
