Movie recommendation--East Side Sushi

I just got home from seeing a delightful little film that was made here in Oakland on a shoestring budget. East Side Sushi is about a Latina woman who takes a job at a sushi restaurant, initially knowing nothing about sushi, who ends up aspiring to become a sushi chef. It manages to be touching and inspirational without straying into sappy, which is kind of a hard line to walk. There was a Q&A with the director afterward.

Apparently distribution is expanding beyond California to limited markets across the country. Since the movie has no budget for marketing (apparently the whole thing was made for under $100K), it is relying on word of mouth, so this is me doing my part to get the word out.

The movie is unrated, but probably would garner a PG. I took my 11 year old, and it was fine. The main character is robbed while manning her fruit cart early in the film, which was kind of intense, and there are a few mildly bad words.
