Gluing plastic edge to shower door

The people who installed our shower door left a bit too much space in between the glass door and the glass door frame, so they attached a little plastic edge or gasket of some sort. See pictures below. I'm trying to reattach where it has come undone at the bottom. Currently, I'm going to try and use Loctite Stik n Seal Outdoor Adhesive Crystal Clear (a Home Depot recommendation).

Does es that sound like the right glue? If not what should I use? Any other pointers to get it to stick? In examining what has come loose, it seems that just the plastic is sticky, the glass part is clean and smooth, no adhesive remains. The Loctite instructions say to put the glue on both surfaces. I'm afraid that if I do that, I'm going to end up with a messy, uneven application with a bunch of gunk left on the glass. Any suggestions?

1. Get a new strip and start from scratch; these things are not expensive and are easy to install. Something is wrong with the one you have, or the installers contaminated the adhesive somehow. I very much doubt that you will be satisfied with the result if you proceed with your idea to glue it on with Loctite.

2. There is also another style that uses no adhesive. It has a channel that is about the same width as the glass in the door, and you just press it firmly onto the edge of the glass where it stays by friction.
Types of shower door seals

For your information, seals like this are standard because you don't want the shower door glass contacting the fixed glass, so installation with a gap is correct practice. However, if this is a recent installation, why are you not insisting the installer come back and do the seal right?

These are normally installed with clear VHB tape.

it depends on the spacing used between the glass. there are vinyl sweeps that slide onto the edge of the glass similar to the one that should have been used along the bottom and actually top. problem with these are that they take away from the 'frameless' look even thought they are clear plastic. how long has it been since you had this installed? I like a shower curtain for its softness. In our previoius house, we purchased a clear glass door. It looked great and wasn't too hard to clean but we also sold the house just a few months after installing it--who knows what it looks like now after a few years. But also, a year or so ago I read an article by a guy who had his shower door shatter while he was naked and helpless. Tempered glass won't break from a direct impact on its broad side but what happens is if the track becomes worn/loose it can cause an edge impact, and then it will shatter easily. I know it is rare, but it scared the crap out of me! He stood in his shower surrounded by glass with no way out!! Yikes. I don't know what code is for clearance. Both my doors open, so it is a full 58" if I need to finagle a wheel chair or shower chair into the shower. It might be that with someone sitting on the stool, you wouldn't clear the knees. Regarding the niche. They get wet and stay wet. I wipe it down daily following the day's showers (last person out does this job). I actually have a small plastic basket under the shower bench for extra supplies that works to contain most supplies. I keep the niche minimally stocked with shampoo and if needed liquid soap.

Here are our frameless glass doors. They are not mitered. They came with the plastic strips but my wife wasn't to keen on the idea of them so when I installed the doors, I left them off to see if they were needed. We've been using the shower for a couple of weeks now and I don't plan on installing the plastic strips since absolutely no water makes it through the space between the glass panels. However, our shower is huge; as smaller shower may get much more water splashed on the glass and through the opening.

Non adhesive types are so much better, just push it on the edge and it stays.
