Well, older but possibly wiser, definitely not fried myself. This dedicated system for my pond was installed by a professional electrician. I did know lots of the tricks of flipping breakers etc, but no matter what the GFI wouldn't reset. I replaced the GFI receptacle easily, done that before. Hit the breaker and had power. Plugged in the pumps, each in a separate circuit and it was great. When I bought the GFI I didn't pay attention that there were three receptacles in the box. Working around the pond area, my friend suddenly started using a circular saw on a pump circuit. Lights out--the saw draws 13 amps, something I never thought about. Another GFI was fried but at least I had another. All seems well right now. One receptacle we removed was rated at 20 amps, but the breaker is 15 amps. What does this mean. What causes these GFI to get "fried?" What is "fried?" I thought the purpose was to shut down and protect. Wonderful, helpful responses. Nothing more gets plugged into those GFI. Mike

Never heard of "tennis" sets. Assuming you mean some kind of plate with a specific place fore a cup... kinda like for punch?? My SIL collects them and uses them mainly for holiday gatherings. Cups aren't really practical for a drink, so she uses them to spoon dip into for veggies or cocktail sauce for shrimp. Replacement.com is expensive. Being frugal, my advice would be take one plate with you and check out thrift stores to see if you can find something to fit the hole.

I did a "Google" search instead of searching using the GW-provided search engine. http://www.google.com/ In this case, I think I used the following search criteria: catsam site:ths.gardenweb.com/forums/load/kitchbath I don't always put the "/forums/load/kitchbath" in the site b/c I've found that sometimes it doesn't work...I don't know why, but it doesn't. I usually try it first, though, b/c it eliminates all threads not on the Kitchens Forum (Discussions/Conversations/Gallery). If I can't find what I'm looking for, then I change the site specification to "ths.gardenweb.com" and try again. However, there is no guarantee you will find a missing thread that way...it's just another tool to use to try, though.

The one I wanted to add as a USB port was one of the early outlets in the circuit. Too close to the sink not to be a GFCI. I thought about cutting in for a double box, put one GFCI also protecting the USB outlet. Actually, kind of got over it. I am used to the USB adapter plugged in all the time. I had heard that the newer arc protectors were less sensitive, but have not had a problem lately. They had put an arc protector to the den. Home office did not agree with the arc protector. Since it is a den and not a bedroom (no door, no closet), I just took out the arc protector and put in a normal breaker. DaleP
