What kind of warm long underwear for GS in snow?
Comments (11)You must be so proud of him, Dorothy. He sounds like a great kid. I remember reading when he was admitted to Dartmouth. I get so sick of people talking about how bad the youth of today are, and it's just not true. There are many examples, of which your Grandson is one, of fine young people. I recently read an article on how great merino wool is for warmth purposes, especially when traveling. It's a wicking type of material but unlike synthetics it doesn't retain odor and needs to be washed infrequently. I found some at TJ maxx and love it. He probably won't need it for DC, but he will for those long winters at college. Good luck....See MoreSon and his underwear
Comments (6)Some years ago, the mother of one of my older son's friends pulled me aside right before the boys went into middle school and said I might want to buy older DS some boxer shorts because that's what all the middle school boys wore, and when they changed for gym class, he would not want to stand out as having the 'wrong' underwear... (DS had spent the night there recently, so I guess she saw his colored briefs?) So I bought some boxers for DS (who said he hated them!) but then started wearing them anyway once he realized that's what 'normal' was... Anyway -- My point is only that at that age, the subject is likely to be sensitive, and wearing the same type of underwear the other boys in his environment are wearing might be important to him. And if bikini briefs are what your area's norm is, then that's probably the sum total of the motivation and thought process. (Any parents you could check with?) I'm a bit concerned though that bikini briefs may well *not* be the norm, and might, in fact, be different enough to stigmatize your son and be the kind of thing that gets him labelled 'gay' and gets bullying started. (Kids can be *so* cruel, and 'gay' seems to be the insult of choice for that age group.) Some kids are certainly more bully-proof than others -- But if your kid isn't one of them, I'd check to see 'what's done' in your neck of the woods......See MoreInside out - right side in (laundry tricks)
Comments (28)Wildchild...I HATE my front load washer (Samsung). It is the worst thing I have bought. DH sometimes does his own wash since I can't seem to get it clean smelling. He will put it on Sanitize for over 2 hours!! Its still stinks to me. give me my old top loader and it will still smell Laundry isn't my best thing to do. I don't turn things inside out either....See MoreCamisoles.... underwear or outerwear?
Comments (12)We had dinner this past week and my brother and his daughter joined us. She is probably 35ish and a beautiful girl, never married, very trim and slim, looks about 25 and she had on a long tiered skirt out of some kind of sheer cotton looking fabric and she had on two of the tanks. a coral one that matched her skirt over a black one and it looked very pretty. I should have added in the previous post, I don't turn the girls loose in public, only around home and when I need to give my bit of scar tissue a rest. The lung surgery scar is right in the same spot that a bra rests on my chest....See Morekathyg_in_mi
