Somebody stop me . . .
Comments (10)Okay, went to Lowes to get the hose reel that was on sale and couldn't find the thing at any store. I went to five before finally a manager just gave me a substitution. During my quest I bought: A really beautiful wind chime on clearance (2.57 for a large one!) Four quart size Achilleas for a buck each! Two Oenotheras on clearance and two hanging baskets full of dianthus for only 2.49 each. The baskets were worth that alone. Oh, and then I needed some shepherds hooks for the baskets and I went to Roses and bought them and 2 Caladiums and 4 Tuberous Begonias. The primrose is in the ground, but due to the rain everything else are still in their pots. Hope I get them in before my Mahonias that I ordered arrive, aquifolium, not Belei, don't worry!! I am so double done with any more plants this year. I hope the rain keeps up!!...See MoreSomebody Stop Me! I bought more!
Comments (11)Oh dear, oh dear. I thought my inability to "just look" on trips to the nursery was due to being newly inspired by all of you. Now I find it seems to be a chronic condition. How do I tell my DH that he and I may both need to take on second jobs to support my growing habit??? Yesterday, I bought American Icon, Liberty, Gold Standard, Krossa Regal, Singing in the Rain, So Sweet, Touch of Class, and Antioch. They aren't even in the ground yet and I am itching for more!...See MoreWeed Hound - somebody stop me!
Comments (39)I bought mine at Walmart for around $17 around a month or so ago. That thing is worth its weight in gold. There was a bit of a learning curve for me - each weed requires a slightly different technique for the best results. My house is new construction and the ground is a heavy compacted clay. The builder elected to seed vs. sod. The weeds came up before the grass seedlings were very strong. I tried Weed-B-Gone but the results just aren't as immediately gratifying as yanking those suckers out of the ground with the Weed Hound! You're right that the entire tap root doesn't always come out. For this problem I come back and spot treat with Weed-B-Gone. This is quite easy to do because the Weed Hound leaves about a 1" diameter hole to squirt into! With the tap roots damaged and exposed the Weed-B-Gone easily gets in and kills the remaining tap root. Plus since I'm spot treating such a small localized area I use less weed killer and the new grass isn't affected....See MoreGE 36' induction cooktop..somebody stop me
Comments (17)Greg - Rollouts inside a cabinet is double motion and you have to make sure both cabinet doors are fully open.. a pain in my humble opinion. With drawers, you can have both hands busy stirring, etc. and open them with your toes and look down for what you need! Can't do that with two doors to open and then a pullout. I put drawers on all my lower cabinets, except for two cabinets - one was for vertical storage (cookie sheets, etc.), the other was for my tall appliances like mixer, blenders, etc. And I LOVE them! Would never go back to base cabinets that are not drawers. So much easier to find things....See Moretlbean2004
