I only have day bloomers now because of a tight budget but I am starting to focus on thenighttime show my pond puts on as well I can sit out there at night for hours just watching the koi swim around and two nights ago I discovered something really cool, my panfish, the "big mama" of the pond will wait for a moth to get curious about the lights nearthe pond, land in the water and get its wings wet and bam! she'll nail him my brother raises cockroaches (pretty disguisting huh?) and now she'll eat them too...See MorePlease post pictures of your refaced cabinets
Comments (12)I don't have pictures but prior to our whole house remodel we did a re-facing. The cost - as others have pointed out - was not cheaper than new cabinets. It was on par with custom cabs - however, we did have a new oven cabinet built and a custom pantry unit. Our cabinet frames were solid and we loved our countertops so refacing was the best option for us. We got all new drawers and changed some lower doors to drawers - so it was also fairly extensive. I was very pleased with the results and the company's customer service was very good. I think it can be a great option to get a significant facelift and improve the functionality of older cabinets for less time and hassle....See MorePlease post pictures of your Kashere White granite
Comments (3)sueb, I had been searching out Kashmir White (it was my alternate choice if I couldn't find the Bianco Romano.) I too will be having very dark wood cabs. The KW & BR are very close in colour tone. The main difference for me was the KW has the very fine tonal differences, and the BR is more coarse with chunkier deposits & veins. I think what won out was that the BR looked crisper & didn't have the more pronounced scattering of garnet spots that the KW had. If you go to the thread I had on the KW from a few days ago (updated today) & scroll down you'll see a post by gail428 you will see kashmir white used with her dark island. Here is a link that might be useful: another post about Kashmir White...See MorePlease post picture of your backsplashes
Comments (90)The photo in the post above is my friend's kitchen and this one is mine. It was taken before the new granite installation. Looks better now but I don't have a ready photo to upload so just thought I'd post this one because the back splash is the same : ) It looks pretty plain in this photo but it's Sonoma Tile and was expensive and had many tiles to choose from in shape and accents. I was not happy with the tile installation and thick grout lines, another long story.. Anyway, I just wanted a more plain splash. I don't have as much on the counters now that the busier granite is in. Also, have repainted since this photo, gotten full window 3 1/2 " shutters, new table and chairs and drapes. Yikes, this was awhile ago!!...See Moregaucho_gordo
