You would be surprised at the mass amount of information Google, Facebook etc. is tracking whether with a brower or not. Every website you go to, every facebook like and friend , every purchase you make is being tacked and it is not anonymous. Ever wonder why certain adds pop up on your screen and how the seem to match what you were searching for yesterday. If you want to stay private, stay off the internet period. As for apps, I only let ones that have a legitimate reason to know where at am. Mapping apps, travel apps like TripAdvisor , my astronomy apps etc. anything else, no you can't have my location. On the IPad you can review these settings later and turn them on and off. But don't let that fool you, the trackers can use cookies and your IP address, network provider etc to narrow down pretty well we're you are located. And of course your cell phone always knows where you are as does the wifi in your car.

It's definitely a way to make some extra income. Other than breakage and theft, there isn't anything negative I can think of. If you're doing it the right way, the worst thing you should have to deal with is keeping your booth stocked because you're selling everything :) Honestly, if you can't break even in your first month, you're in a bad location, have the wrong merchandise mix, or the mall isn't doing well. I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to sell at a very successful mixed mall in a neighboring city, more vintage than antique. I owned a brick and mortar gift shop for 10 and have been in retail since I started working so I have a little more experience than most. I don't sell anything that I can't mark-up 100% or more. My booth is a mix of vintage and new vintage inspired items. My booth rent is a very good deal, imo, at $2.15/sq.ft. I don't have to work in the shop at all and the only other fee I have is a flat 5% for credit card sales which is more than fair, imo. We get our checks on the 1st of the month which is absolutely wonderful. My minimum goal is $100 per square foot in sales and I've never done less than that. I've been there 10 months (after being on the waiting list for 2 years) and expanded to a larger booth last month. I'll be expanding to the booth next door sometime after the first of the year. Very similar to Craigslist but local to your area. I didn't know there were services, I was browsing the general for sale items. I have never tried any of them, there's a LOT of them I keep seeing them on TV ads. Like the let go app. Ilike nextdoor for finding out things happening in the neighborhood. Today someone posted about dog napping! Some guy in a pick up truck with dog crates in the back stealing dogs out of backyards. A few days ago there was a post about breaking in to cars at night. It is great for lost pets. I was hesitant about it at first but it has been beneficial especially with the flood situation.

The "auto response" that FBMP has is a royal pain. Do not click anything unless you are really interested in it. It shouldn't be used for ANY other reason. I see a lot of stuff on MP and will not ask the seller about it unless I know I can come see it. Ever. I did manage to buy a beautiful red sectional for my basement a few years ago. It was on a FB buy/sell group. It was $500. I saw about 200 "next" under it so I didn't bother to try to buy it with that many people interested. Soon it was sold. Two weeks later, I just happened to be on the same buy/sell group and the lady said it was back up for sale, the buyer didn't show up, only this time she put it up for $400. She didn't even have the ad up for 10 seconds and I posted I wanted it. So did one other person. The seller said to inbox her for details. I did right away. The other lady missed out, she wasn't quick enough. Within and hour, my son and husband were here with my beautiful almost new sectional. It's downstairs in the family room where I do most of my colouring and crocheting. I've fallen asleep on it several times because it's just comfy. lol
