Need to overseed, please help identify grass type

We've been here about a year and have made some good progress on the lawn but it's really all new to me. I've searched around the forum and gotten good advice on watering and cutting height etc. After getting rid of some crabgrass and thick clover I've got some bare spots and would like to get it filling in now that the weather is cooling down. I have about 1.25 acres minus the house, driveway and basketball court. Just about everything is covered with in ground sprinklers. Can anyone give me advice on what type of grass seed I need and a rate to put it down? Located in South Jersey.

If you've been reading here, why do you think you have some brown spots in the middle of the sunny part of the grass?

Do you know what kind of grass it is? Is it fescue, rye, or Kentucky bluegrass?

I don't know type for certain but I'm pretty sure it's not fine fescue ( I have some, it's awful in my opinion). Likely tall fescue or Kentucky bluegrass? You might need to pull a blade an take an extreme close up for the experts.

That kind of aggressive runner coming from a golf course would certainly imply Bermuda, but some creeping bentgrass types look kind of similar. That purple stem plant could be a baby Crabgrass plant with that tiller on it.

I'm going with a kind of prairie grass. I yank a handful together with any flower or seed heads it develops and take it to the local county extension agent. They should know right away. And then come back here to tell us what it is.

I'm not sure of the grass type dchall_san_antonio, that's what I was asking. I'm thinking it is a Kentucky Bluegrass but really am not sure. I can get a closer picture if necessary. I thought the brown spots were where I had high concentration of weeds and clover and wasn't left with much cover after treating with weed b gone.

That looks like a standard tri-mix lawn (fescue, rye, and bluegrass). Pretty much any off the shelf Sun/Shade mix would be a pretty good match for it.
