Best Natural Dishwashing Detergent..?
Comments (19)You can make a natural dishwasher agent by combining equal parts of washing soda and borax (that 20 mule team stuff). Use about 2 T. of the stuff per load, in the first wash only. Then fill your rinse agent dispenser with white vinegar. This may work for you, depending on your local water. Some people have reported a white film from using this powder, but I think that might be taken care of by doing the vinegar thing. I find the white vinegar rinse has cleared up some glassware that I thought was clouded (etched) forever. Another side bonus of this natural combo is that the odor problems I had with my dishwasher when using the gel detergents are now gone....See MoreNeed help with my laundry detergent
Comments (1)I'm not really sure of the answer, but I know exactly what you're talking about. All of my baby washcloths got disgusting and gray no matter what I did with them. I even tried soaking with some bleach overnight once and it didn't take it out. I eventually decided it must have something to do with the baby soap because when I later switched to using a regular mild bar soap and bought some new washcloths, the gray didn't come back. Of course I don't know for sure that was the case. I was using Purex laundry detergent in a regular top loading machine at the time. I tried Biokleen detergent once and wasn't satisfied with it's cleaning at all personally, but I'm not sure that it has anything to do with your washcloth problem. The Purex I used was fine on all my other laundry...even got my cloth diapers clean. GL!...See MoreNatural HE detergent recommendations?
Comments (16)The best natural, eco-friendly laundry detergent w/ enzymes, in my opinion, is BI-O-KLEEN Premium Plus laundry powder. The first time I used it, my clothes came out cleaner than with any other product -- including off-the-shelf stuff like Tide HE. This is simply an amazing product. I'm trying to assess whether it cleans and rinses as well as Charlie's. The BI-O-KLEEN contains quite a bit more than the Charlie's -- enzymes, sodium percarbonate (oxy bleach), grapefruit seed extract, citrate, and a few other things. It also has everything Charlie's has -- washing soda, sodium silicate, and coconut-based surfactants. This product would seem to fill that niche between those who like the least amount of product working on their clothing -- Charlie's -- and those who want to nuclear blast their clothes -- Tide HE, etc. Enzymes are particularly good at cleaning protein-based stains -- poop, food, dairy, etc. BI-O-KLEEN has products that are very similar to Charlie's, without the enzymes, but their web site recommends the enzyme-based product (Premium Plus) for diapers....See MoreSpringtime Laundry Detergent?
Comments (1)The ECOS is a waste of money. It's suppose to be HE yet only a small amount causes a lot of sudsing and it has no cleaning power to speak of. Hate it!!...See Moreaamassther
