Buying seeds from Mr Ko
Comments (8)Christine, Adenium_Ko is very reputable and many Australian growers buy from him. It is my understanding that things have been slow ordering direct from his website as he is relocating to China from what I am told. You can buy from his eBay site and his interpreter looks after these while he is away. I do not think anyone would give guarantees even with his seeds, although the percentages will be greater for something with similarities. Rinoa, is also very well thought of from Taiwan also. She used to work with KO. Her eBay address is Orientadenium . On Facebook is the same. I have had many with slight similarities and that is all I hope for. The one thing that most of do not realize is that these growers start thousands of seeds in hope to produce a few remarkable blooms/plants. If you are wanting a nice seed grow plant and not grafted. You could check with a friend in Austrlia? See what the bloom looks like and get what you like. Sandy's Adeniums on Google and go to her page. Her email address is there. Comments (10)That's a beautifully grown specimen, succulentville. Also curious about Phil's question (how many seeds did it take to get those flowers..). And where do you live, do you grow outside or under lights? For those who don't know, Mr. Ko is ebay seller adenium_ko. I have a few of his A. arabicum varieties grown from seed as well, got near 100% germination. If you like Adenium, I heartily encourage you to head over to the Adenium forum here on GardenWeb, it's a great place. Daniel...See MoreMR. KO --- Seed Order
Comments (13)When I first started growing these Adeniums. Two people whom had been growing them close by had said to me " Bet we know what you will end up getting, 'Pink' ". This is what they had experienced and was quite true. In some cases w dishonest sellers it still could be. With all of the seed grown trees that I have started and have had bloom to date. I have had 2 which you could call Pink. The other I do not have a photo of on this device. It is a dark Pink w white throat. These next photo's will show the "Pod parent bloom" and next one my seed grown tree's bloom. "Double Black Madonna" My Seedling of this: First Photo is of the same Pod Parent bloom above. Dbl.BM "Have A Dream Most Beautiful" My seedling of Pod Parent bloom above: "Excellent Lover" My seedling from seed of above Pod Parent: I am quite happy with what has resulted with these. I think going into growing these, knowing the possibilities or lack there of. Nothing is expected, so there is no reason to be disappointed. Just for the sake of showing just how we cannot take a first bloom on a tree to be the same in the next blooming cycle. This is my "Triple Twilight" tree's bloom in the first year (grafted tree). This next photo is a bloom from same tree this year. Just shows how unique and surprising at the same time. It also shows just how far the hybridizers of these have come. Comments (4)Did that work out for you? I've ordered from Mr. KO and been very pleased with his quick response as well as the seeds I got. Except for one batch that turned out to be duds, everything else had a very high germination rate....See MorePhil UK zone 8b
