Should I paint an accent wall?

We are remodeling a 360 sq ft living room, and I think I've *finally* settled on Benjamin Moore Stone Hearth as the main paint color. However, I'm toying with the idea of a turquoise accent wall. I have the Marslev rug from IKEA, so I would be matching the turquoise color to that.

I'll post some pictures of my space. The photos show paneling on the walls, but we now have primed drywall instead. The turquoise wall would likely be the one containing the closet door (to the left of the fireplace).

I think I would place my Kallax shelves on the accent wall, similar to the ones pictured here:

While we're at it, if anyone has suggestions for the mantle & fireplace, I'm all ears! We don't plan to use the fireplace, so I'll probably just decorate it with large pillar candles or something similar. My husband wants to build a bulkier mantle and conceal wires in it, as we plan to hang the TV above the fireplace.
