Tips on Planting New Thuja Green Giants

Steve Krause

I'm thinking of planting three GGs this fall to screen out neighbor's yard. The ones I'm looking at are about 6' high right now (from Bordines here in Michigan) and look pretty healthy. I don't know a whole lot about this plant, so had a few questions:

1. Are they pretty hardy?

2. Any idiosyncrasies I should be aware of?

3. The plant tag says they get about 20'H and 8-10'W, but some websites list them as growing to 50'-60'. Why such a disparity in size estimates?

4. Any tips on planting them?

Thanks!
