LOL larsi, that's funny, but actually it's pretty true. Walmart is a store that values its shelf space. If it's not producing profit, the product mix is changed. Not all Walmarts will carry the same product mix either since some things sell well enough in one area to justify keeping it where others it won't. Few grocery stores here carry much powder at all. Many carry none. I was surprised to see Home Depot start carrying Ariel about 6 months ago. First I've seen it in this area. Mara, FYI Woolite and Cheer are both P&G products. Cheer Free has been used by a lot of people at least who used to hang around the forum and found it to be a very effective and low-sudsing product. They highly recommended it for FLs. A detergent does not have to have an HE symbol on it to be used in an HE machine. Actually, many detergents have been "HE compatible" and not true HE detergents, for example Charlie's Soap. I suspect that part of the issue of not updating the website is that they'll wait until it's rolled out. As I recall the liquid compaction conversion, the country was divided into something like 5 zones and introduced over the course of something like a year. It could be a similar situation here. I don't know how people keep saying powders are so much cheaper than liquids. The cheapest powder I've found that works acceptably is much more than the liquids I've bought. Let's see, I've bought Tide for 36â per 32 load bottle, ProWash paid me 75â to buy it, A&H was free, Xtra 32 load was $1.75, and I just bought 110 load Ajax for $5 and 150 oz Era for less than $7. A 40 load Great Value powder cost me something like $10 last time I bought it and it's not performing as well as the other detergents unless I use additives so I won't be bothering with it anymore. And yes, I probably have 2-3 years worth of detergent so I won't be buying any more. Just hope my washer keeps a chugging away!

I have never tried Biz. I know years ago, late 80's or early 90's my cousin used to do some weird Biz + Ammonia and something else and she would soak white t-shirts in a bucket to 100% remove deodorant and underarm yellowing. She also swore by Biz, adding it to every load of clothes, towels and sheets. I read that Biz is great for odors and actually deep cleaning fibers, not masking! I teach Group Fitness (high intensity, high cardio) 4-6x a week...and I love the idea of adding something to my workout clothes to really deep clean and freshen. The Biz website lists all kinds of uses! Maybe it is my new Miracle product!! OF COURSE I have like 200 Tide Boost Sport and Tide Boost w/Bleach pods too!! and now Biz!! LOL

Elizabeth...I agree about the real original Tide, not much could ever beat that scent, but you will find here many refer to the Tide scent change in the 70's as the original Tide scent. Probably because they are too young to recall the Real original Tide LOL. I have to say...powders can and will decompose over time if they were stored in wet or humid conditions..they can also lose their scent if they are stored in warehouses with no temp control...that being said if you find a box of powder that is free flowing its most likely fine. Store it away from water sources, humidity, and bright light and it should be fine for many many years......P&G is not going to get into all of this other than what the experation date is for various reasons. Like Mich I also have found discontinued detergents/scents more often in pharmacys that are in great new condition. Probably because a pharmacy isn't selling a lot of it so it sits on a shelf in a nice climate controlled store. But let that nice box you find sit in your laundry room on a shelf and not use it, than boom its going to be clumps in a short period of time from the humid room. It all depends on the condition of the powder detergent when you get it and how you store it as to whether its going to still be stable in 10 years.

Ariel is now made in Mexico. It's a European company. Not a Mexican company. Just like how American company's have outsourced many different countries to make products originally made only in USA. Just like coca-cola, I have had it made from many different countries. I've had Mexican coke American. When I was in West Africa, which honestly tasted the best. The coke was written in Arabic. I forget where it was crafted. I think Morocco, don't quote me on that. But that doesn't mean Coca-cola is a Arab or Mexican company. It's just now manufactured all over the world now. I know Ariel in USA is found mainly in Mexican marketplaces and value type stores but it was developed in Europe between 1967-69. Not trying to be that guy. But all I keep reading is "it's Mexican laundry soap" and "its a Mexican company" "Mexican detergent made for Mexican women". To be honest I originally thought it was Mexican as well. But I looked it up due to a discussion about it with my father.
