I suppose most every woman who ever drew breath has contemplated at some point in her life about having a child. Or whether they want one. Or whether the timing is right. Or whether they'll wait too long to try. Or whether their partner (if they have one) feels the same. Or whether it would add to/destroy a relationship. Or whether they'll regret a decision somewhere down the line. Becoming a parent is a very important life event, and it will alter a person's life in one way or another. That's a given. There have been times in my life it was all I could think about. There have been other times in my life I thought I wouldn't even go there. Some people "shouldn't" go there, too who make that decision for the wrong reasons. I have two wonderful kids, and two step children, and have had six foster kids along the line. Then I spent ten years of my life working with kids on a professional level. Now I have the blessing of grandchildren. I cannot even imagine not having my children, but I do know that if one wants the privilege of children in their lives that one doesn't have to have a child of their own to do it. I think Marda's advice is just excellent. Let it be something you plug into your mental incubator and see how it simmers. If it continues to pluck at your heart then discuss it with your partner. I've found that no matter how well you feel you know your mate, when push comes to shove, you sometimes have to ask in a way that lets them feel there is no "wrong" answer to create an atmosphere of open discussion. If you are intimate enough to live with a person, or have a physical relationship.........it's never too early to discuss the issue of pregnancies. Because no matter how well you think you have your bases covered, they can and do happen. Women in America seem to marry or at least have children at an earlier age than women in Europe. It's quite common to see a thirty-something get married for the first time, or postpone having children until then. Unless you're planning on having a dozen of them, that is. LOL. We have this notion here that a woman over thirty five is "too old" to be starting child-bearing. I've heard doctors say this, that they're too old to cope. I don't buy that for a minute. I wish I had the knowledge and patience when I had my babies I had by the time I hit my forties. Why don't you discuss this situation with your physician if you have a good relationship with him/her?

Groveraxle, thank you SO much for the renderings. How helpful. I really hadn't thought of green much but all this feedback is making me reconsider. And I agree that the lemonade porch ceiling should be a sky blue (for both tradition and the joy of it). Pennydesign, the green/blue pots are from the stoop on my last house. Previously I had potato vine (which does well here), coming through the gumdrop shaped metalwork top pieces. I picked them up at a garage sale, long ago, and they seem to be designed to be part of a hanging plant but are so huge, I never got around to hanging them anywhere. So I stuck them on those pots to give them some presence. I've also wound lights around them in the winter to highlight the gumdrop look. I put them there when I moved just to sort of mark the path but they don't have to live there. This year I've been so busy with other house projects (all the boring and costly system stuff) that I haven't planted anything so maybe they look silly?

LFG can give off a purple-blue undertone in certain lighting. Just had it done and it was mixed correctly. I had our bedroom painted with it and in natural light, with sun, it is the beautiful gray most of love. In the evening, and with artificial light, it does put off those blue tones but for me, in a bedroom, it’s not offensive. I’m trying to look at it with an open mind and the important thing for me is it still feels soothing and fresh. We tried about 6 different grays on our walls (tan to start)... Analytical gray was too mocha, Chelsea gray was nice but a little too cement for a whole room. The key to make it pop was painting the ceiling Ceiling Bright White and we will do the trim and baseboards either in Alabaster or High Reflective White.

@cda1028... I'm not sure what your issue is, but I've been doing LTR and STRs for a very long time. I have been extremely successful, people pay me to consult on getting their STR business started. I have rented to celebrities, top politicians and my rentals have been used to film movies, TV shows and commercials in. Bottom line...I know what I'm doing. I never said I was not going to address the landscaping nor the inside. I came unto to Houzz as I know it attracts the top professionals in the Design arena. The thread I started was merely about getting the advice from others about EXTERIOR PAINT colors.. I know where my strengths and weaknesses lay. Picking paint colors has always been one of my weaknesses and as my Designer is on maternity leave for the next 6 months, I thought I'd pop on here see if I can get the opinions of some other professionals and even others who are good at this sort of thing. Knowing how to run a business does not make me a Designer. Everyone here has been EXTREMELY helpful. The reason I'm not revealing the exact location is because I know there are many people online who are "unbalanced". Some people feel comfortable putting their locations online, some do not. I fall into the latter category. After reading your very "aggressive" message to me, once again I feel that I've made the correct decision. Best of luck with your rental and no need to feel like I am competition to you... as I am 100% sure you are no competition to me.
