Comments (2)In terms of the pony wall at the front door. People do take them out a lot, but it defines the entry and creates a place to put a piece of furniture much closer to the door than you would if the wall was not there. This definition of boundaries can be important, especially in a small house. I would select a rug first because that will give you some color direction. You may find only a handful of rugs you both like and can afford, and paint colors number in the thousands....See MoreNeed paint advice for my dark couches

Comments (5)Our Benjamin Moore paint store has a woman who will come to your house and help pick wall colors and help with the flow from one room to another, as long as you purchase the paint from them. You really need someone to be there in person to see how the house flows and especially how the light varies from room to room. Trim/door/window paint color kept the same also helps the flow and even “white” trim can be tricky depending on the mix of cool vs. warm tones - especially with neutrals and you mentioned gray.. The two Benj. Moore trim paints recommended to me were Simply White or Chantilly Lace which work with warm or cool neutral tones....See MoreNeed paint color advice!
Comments (7)Take one of your sofa cushions to the Sherwin Williams store. They have a display with different kinds of lights. Use those lights (the ones most similar to your home) to help you pick color samples that are compatible with your sectional. Then get some sample size paints mixed up. Paint foamcore from the dollar store with the samples. Move them around the rooms, and see which you prefer at different times of day. You don’t want to go through this again!...See MoreButternut
