I've been a little sea glass obsessed lately. You might consider pretty shades of blue, aqua, and green to work with your teal carpet.

To me, it would depend on what else is in the room. Is there a regular guest bed in there for other company to use, as well as a crib? Or will it be strictly a nursery for your grandchild when he/she visits? If there is another full size bed involved, will you be buying all new bedding for that, too? What other furniture will you be keeping in the room? Personally, although I love the way the lavender/purple looks with the teal carpeting in Cawaps' photos, Jen's suggestion of a sea glass color sounds wonderful to me. Light and refreshing! And practical, too, for adult guests as well.

just for grandbabies... they bring a pack n play playpen for now. I may eventually put a day bed in. I really wanted a butter yellow but with the carpet I really don't know. I don't have a good eye for these things. I have some nice wall hangings with all the pastel colours so they will tie it together and look fine no matter what soft colour I go with.

I like the grey suggestion. Pre-kids I thought Fun! Cheerful! Nurseries! were adorable. Post kids I think soothing, serene nurseries are lovely.

With pastel artwork, maybe a very pale gray or even white.

Yellow could work if used sparingly. Babies are babies for such a short time, I'd think about a palette that will easily grow up with them into toddler-hood.

Is the room a standard size? Would it be possible to cover the teal rug with an area rug?

I think a soft celery or apple green would be pretty too.

Pink! Pale pink looks great with greens. Or Lukki' s greens above, for a more unisex color :-)

I'm loving either luckiirish's idea with the celery, or the lavender- surprisingly cute!

Here's a palette that would include a golden yellow as well as other colors that would easily see through babyhood into the future.

well I purchased a very light spring green after holding swatches the colour of my carpet next to various paint colours. they compliment each other quite nicely. Hopefully it will tie together and look great!
