Should i take my lemons off my tree.
Comments (4)Well i do live in south florida and we have been having really warm weather 80's so I'm hoping that it would be okay to repot because it's been so warm. We did have a big frost that came thru for two days it got down to 29 and it was cold. I now have to nurse my areca palms, frangipani, and my garden back to health. Thanks again for the help with my lemons and I know i'll be back for more advice....See MoreNothing Happening So I will Take Tops Off
Comments (7)I love your 'standing on your head to see inside the jugs' comment! I've got a neighbor who's seen me peering down into mine each morning; makes me chuckle because she's dying to figure out what I'm doing over here, but I'm not offering information & she's (so far) not got up the nerve to ask! We live in a neighborhood where compost piles not concealed in tidy store-bought bins, happy hens clucking about & rows of taped milk jugs are NOT the norm! I'm still waiting for someone to actually define 'normal' for me...until then, I'll keep listening to my own drummer! Good luck with yours in those temps this week! I'm having to water mine everyday now, so looking forward to getting them into the ground soon. But the next few nights here we've got frost warnings so I'm closing mine back up in the evenings....See Moreshould I take off these shutters or repaint them?
Comments (24)WOW! You all have been so helpful to me. I love this forum! martinca, yes we have lots of azaleas and the like...very southern! Maybe one day we'll paint the house and post a pic for you! Awm03, thanks for the photoshop! I do need to think about this idea about one color for the future. For now, it's just small stuff. Suero, yikes! Thanks for doing that for me....definitely not a fan of red shutters! Littlebug5, My3dogs, and hoosiergirl, I can totally agree that the red door is not the best color. And I can see how it clashes with the orange and there are lots of better colors out there. I just really wanted a personal stamp on the house. The idea of matching occurred to me (the door was originally the same color as the shutters) and I was thinking of green....but there is already so much green in that yard. I think if you saw the inside of my house you could see what color people we are. I even dress in a colorful way...mixing patterns(hmmm, I wonder how many of us resemble our home decorationg in terms of personal dress? That would be a fun experiment, match the homeowner to the house!). Like I said, I totally get that the door is not perfect in terms of matching but it just makes me happy! I love it. My3 dogs, hmmm. I can see what you mean! I think it would look nice with the siding that color too (did you notice there door shutters were still on in that pic?) : ) hosenemis, we pulled the shutters off around the door and big window already. They were anchored in the mortar. Not a real problem. However, having said all this I am definitely NOT painting the shutters, as was one of my ideas (thanks to suero for helping with this!) and will most likely be leaving them as well. I will focus my attention on landscaping for now. It's funny: having posted this a while ago, I now see my house and I am much happier with it. I also think I'd rather paint the whole whole taupe and keep the red door so for now it won't be perfect but I am quite happy with that! I love this forum and so appreciate all who have chimed in to help me!...See MoreShould we take our house off the market this fall?
Comments (15)One house up the street from me was listed with one REA for 6 months and did not sell. A couple of days ago, a new REA put up signs that say "Just Listed" And oddly enough, they didn't reduce the price. As buyers, we didn't give a hoot about how long the house was on the market until we chose the house we wanted. Then we used the DOM to help figure our offer. After a little negotiating, we found the point of overlap between what we were willing to pay and what the seller was willing to accept. I wouldn't take the house off the market either. Like it was already mentioned, you can't sell a house that isn't for sale. Well, unless you are our neighbors. We got them a buyer after they took their house off the market because our friend was relocating to the area. I wouldn't count on that happening though!...See Morebeaglesdoitbetter
