He found that when there were blinking, moving lights at night, the lion's favourite hunting time ... the lions stayed away. So he tried this, using simple materials readily available, and it worked for him, then passed it around to others, who also used it. Resulting in quite a few of the Masai then killing way fewer lions. Didn't patent the idea, considering it a gift from God, and is not making any money from it. He was brought to the U.S. to give a TED talk. The story that I heard about this did not mention that many of the Masai are on the edge of starvation, as the drought in the area and the expansion of the Sahara has caused almost no grazing for their cattle, resulting in most of them dying, and the loss of the Masai's traditional way of life, with few alternative prospects available. ole joyful...See MoreTalk to me about apps, please.
Comments (47)Raven, these are the sorts of things I've been reading about about SwiftKey. I wonder if the problem is specific to the N7....? I was going to buy the $3.99 version 3 for tablets. Please fix the issue of erasing on tablets (tf300). When pressing the back key to erase the app goes crazy and starts retyping whatever was typed last. This makes the app almost useless since the smallest of mistakes can not be corrected unless by changing back to the Asus keyboard. Solid 5 stars when an update fixes this. The space and backspace doesn't function at certain times on my nexus 7. It's very frustrating. I understand this problem has been stated. I'll be disabling swiftkey until it's fixed. This was the first purchase I made on my Nexus 7 and I have updated everything but this will not take. Brought it to dev friends to see if I am a moron, good news is I am not, bad news is It still doesn't work. Any direction would be greatly appreciated....See MoreSite of the Day July 29

Comments (13)Love the quote. Thanks so much for liking my post. I have a great deal of difficulty narrowing down my "alives" In other words I love technology that saves lives and I love humane treatment of animals and I love psychiatry and psychology that support ill people. The list is long and I'm constantly reading about all these things. With the choosing of 2 to 3 ideas I can start somewhere, anywhere and do the chosen 3 and switch it up when that work is done. :). Right now I want to help with bicycles for girls so they can get to school ... and supporting the underwater work of scientists trying to save sea life in a warming sea. Not sure how to do this. Also locally I want to in some way help our indigent and indigenous populations achieve better health. Through financial donations, I think. There are lots of good things to help with. I've always been too sick before and too all over the map lately. Now I have the ability health wise and a plan. Thanks for taking the time and effort to answer. Very much appreciated. :) FWIW some of my random Ted talks that wake me up. :) Heal hearts without surgery TED talk chronic fatigue syndrome Ted talk wish ocean work ultra sound tremors fibroids etc...See Moreravencajun Zone 8b TX
