Comments (9)Thank you for the advice and wording. I emailed your replies to DD and she feels much better now. She wanted to convey that she had written them in a timely fashion but was concerned that her MIL might somehow feel blamed. She combined the phrasing from your posts and will personally deliver them to the PO....now she's crossing her fingers that the PO doesn't let her down. She may even follow up with a phone call in 2 weeks. I knew her spirits had lifted when she said to be sure and extend her thank you to all who helped. Thank you - officially....See MoreThank-You notes when bride & groom have terrible handwriting
Comments (6)A thank you note is about expressing gratitude, not about providing an example of calligraphy. Unless both your arms are broken or something, having anyone else doing it for you completely defeats the purpose. Try not even to think about this. Don't say a word to them about their handwriting or how they should do their thank you notes. They know what their handwriting looks like. The notes are their responsibility and their handwriting is their problem, and it's their business to come up with a solution -- indeed, I presume they already have. I certainly hope these aren't the first thank you notes or letters they've ever written. If they are, they have bigger problems than poor handwriting. Talley Sue's advice is perfect, and your own advice to yourself about backing off and not getting too carried away is excellent, too!...See MoreOT......What happened to thank you notes ?????
Comments (25)Vee, that reminds me of when we went to an outdoor concert and the couple in front of us were really obnoxious. The concert was in summer time in a paddock which was rocky and had dry stubble and weeds and was quite rough. This couple kept standing up and dancing in front of their sets, blocking the view of everyone behind, and the security guard kept coming and telling them to either sit down or go to the dancing area off to the side. They also thought they were being so clever smoking (it was a no smoking area) and hiding their cigarettes under their seats so the glowing ends wouldn't be noticeable. At the conclusion of the concert we started the long walk back to the car park, and on the way DH dropped into a collection bin the garbage bag we had been handed on entry. I remarked to DH, "Wasn't that couple a real PITA?" "Yep," he replied. "And one each of their thongs were in that bag I just dropped into the bin." While they were up dancing, with their thongs (flip flops) under their seats, DH had reached forward, taken one from each pair, and placed them into our garbage bag. I don't imagine walking across that prickly paddock was a lot of fun, once they gave up looking for the missing thongs :-)...See More- 11 years ago
