Right...I now have a thumb drive with today's versions of .exe files for Firefox, MWBAM, SuperAS, CCleaner, Avast, Avast Uninstaller, CCleaner, Win Patrol and Revo. It'll be 2 weeks before I can do this computer clean-up. Doing this all off-line, should I uninstall old Revo first, then install current Revo and use that to uninstall other programs one by one? And run new CCleaner after each uninstall? Any flaws in this plan? Appreciate any advice! Regards, Shax

This is weird. My problems all happen when using our home wifi connection. Last night I couldn't scan with MWBAM, Avast said it was not connected properly, and only Scotty was on patrol! I couldn't even access this site, although others loaded very well. But working at site this morning on a different modem, no problems at all! Everything works as it should. Do routers/modems have security protection settings?

Thanks, Bob. I do see dots - but not near the notification area. It's in the quick launch area and task bar (which shows I have firefox opened) - just to the right of the start menu. So thanks to you instructions, I was able to drag it all back to the bottom. Good to know that keep task bar on top means showing. Now I'm down to just one problem. the notification icons are displaying in three rows. These rows are taking up 2 regular sized bars. I can get the start, firefox open browser tab and quick launch icons on the top line - but I can't make the bottom line disappear because the notifcation icons are taking up 3 small rows. There are no dots there - and I can't find a way to collapse them into a single line. Also - interestingly, the whole reason i started this venture was to get the safely remove hardware icon back. Even though I went to properties - and selected customize, and always show safely remove hardware icon, the icon is still not showing. And the clock is now displaying on three lines as well. Thanks. I would not allow site advisor to update in fact it is no longer on any of my machines, you can remove it from add remove programs. it once was a good tool, but it got very greedy and wanted to really take over and stopped letting people make changes to it,and started installing components with out letting people know just like what just happened to you with that application installer cleanup app, that upset a lot of people and many many people left it then which is when I left it. It is McAfee ! Now instead we suggest using WOT on all the browsers it does a better job and it is not intrusive into the system. Safe Browsing tool WOT Web of Trust I will see if Bill P the creator of winpatrol has a simple tutorial or if he knows of one and let you know. I know that Corrine has done some tutorials on it in the past.
