Week 112 - What did you make for Fourth of July?
Comments (21)You guys never cease to amaze me. I worked. You'd be surprised at how many people celebrate the 4th with Tex-mes. I mean Tex-Mex. Yup. Mex, not Mes. Just got back online after a week without a computer. Longest week in my life since I went online in 1988. Yup. 1988. Absolutely roto-routed my system with a Blackberry phone app (dropped old phone in potty, activated a new, 2-year old phone) which deleted all my communication drivers (WiFi, Bluetooth, and even ethernet) and caused my factory installed Windows to claim it was a counterfeit edition. Huh? Although back online, I am really disgusted with the frou-frou Windows 10. Can do very few functional things with it. Grrrr.... But here I am. Hot, sweaty, and online. We're in our first real heatwave....See MoreWhat do you make coffee in?
Comments (36)Interesting all the choices. In the early morning I want quick and easy; use the Kuerig with a refillable pod. The coffee varies, guessing that I am not a true bean connoisseur. While there are coffees that I do not like, most are acceptable. Afternoon I will occasionally use our Nespresso for a more interesting cup. Our French press tends to only be used when we are camping. It does always make a great cup of coffee. As camping is not anywhere on the horizon, think that I will try the French press for an afternoon cup of coffee sometime soon....See MoreWho's hunkering down and quilting more? What are you making?
Comments (28)My quilt class was supposed to start today, but didn't, of course. We're on Safer at Home, and everything is shut down. I look like a sheepdog. We were away for a month and returned to an empty fridge. Within three days I was ill. Fortunately just pneumonia. Took six days to get the negative Covid results. Now recovered, as is DH, who caught it from me. Two people in Mom's assisted living have died. Fortunately they were in the separate memory care unit. Sixteen more residents and six staff are positive. Yesterday I picked up a quilt the longarmer did while we were away. Will post a photo when I get it bound. Have 100 scrap pinwheel blocks made, likely for a baby quilt. This thing could last ten years and I'd still have stash left!...See MoreWhat are you making for Father's Day
Comments (41)My father has been dead for many years and my son is biking across the country and talked to his dad last night. But the daughter had a nice spread in her fabulous new yard which looks like something from HGTV. We had snacks and she and I did a walk around her town while the boys, her dad , husband, and son watched alternately golf and the Phillies. Grandson brought his big TV out in the backyard. They had grilled chicken thighs, orzo salad which was so good and corn on the cob but the dessert was delicious and it now is my fav for celebrations. She got it on Pinterest and it was strawberry cream lasagna which was so good with just-picked strawberries. I had two servings. His gift was the Phillies game two weeks ago and she also gave him more tonight. We'll miss them. They're leaving for Iceland for two weeks....See More
