It was a rainy day yesterday and I was stuck inside so I decided to install Windows 10. Too soon to give a review but I have had some problems using Microsoft Edge. For example, I cannot log into this website with ME. The page continually blinks and reloads. I cannot log in unless I use IE. Similar thing happens on my web mail account. I go to the log in page using ME, enter my e-mail address and password and the page reloads with "redirect" added to the web address. I have to use IE to check my web mail. So far these are the only sites I've tried where this happens. Any ideas on what's up?

Just want to make sure you understood what I was saying in my above post. Don't click on any Links, Favorites Etc... Go up to the Address Bar (Just under the Tabs at the top of the Microsoft Edge Browser). Type Houzz and Click Enter. You'll then need to Sign in (Upper Right corner of the Houzz Website). Type User Name and Password then Click Enter! Make sure not to click on any Links, even though the link works with IE or Chrome!

Do you have this website on your Favs.? I came right here using Edge as I did with all my other websites I visit daily. You can import your favs to Edge you know? however Edge does not support Java so to use java run websites, I must use a diff browser.

Yes, I imported my favs. I also was unable to log into my electric company's web site using ME after entering my user name & password. IE works as it always did. Seems like I have a theme going on here.

I watched the video and fired up the application. It looks like a nice marketing tool for the company that appears to specialize in hardscape products like pavers. The basic idea seems that people play around with the tool and then call the company to come out and do the design and installation. I only took a very quick look at the tool but I did not see much in the way of plants. - Brent

Thanks for your answer. I have space on my isp but have to do some html. Have been communicating with a fellow gardenwebber who has said she will do my page. That would be the easy way out but I would not learn anything from the process. Maybe I could learn to maintain the page. Barb

This has been interesting! I used to love surfing around on Gardenweb! I’m not very techy at all but I could do it. Houzz has been confusing a bit and sometimes I feel like I’m in the Twilight Zone. It’s exciting to see some of these names from way back! Definitely remember My3dogs, Palimpset, and Magnaverde for sure! Why do they mess with success? I’m not even sure what my user name was back then. Maybe Deborah 1950? A funny story. Several years ago I was at Home Depot researching ranges. I told the guy my 40” Kenmore Elite electric range story about how the oven hadn’t worked for a few years and I’d been told no parts available. (Everyone is now so tired of this story, including me). Anywa, he was on his computer and says, “Here’s somebody else with the same problem!”

Try a different browser, like Chrome. What happens with these same sites?

I tried Google Chrome on my web mail account and logged in with no problem. ME won't get me in but IE will.

jrb451, Try Typing out the Address instead of using your Link you already have in your favorites (you really only need type Houzz then click Enter). I have had a couple sites not open in Microsoft Edge, so I Retyped Instead of Clicking on the Old Link, then the website would open. I then Deleted my Old Link in my Favorites and made a New Link.

That doesn't work for me. I'll enter all my info and the screen will "flash" and show the same page with user name/password sections completed. Hit enter, same thing. Close WE go there with IE, it opens.

I'm not a Microsoft Edge user but if I were having a problem like that with another browser I'd probably...
1. Clear history, both cache and cookies.
2. Make sure the browser is accepting cookies.
3. Look for a way to reset the browser.
If none of that worked, and I could login with all my other browsers, just not Microsoft Edge, the new one( the variable), I'd probably be inclined to blame it on Microsoft Edge and wait for an update to fix it.

TY. I've tried these suggestions without any luck. I'll wait for the patch if it's still installed.

Yeah, that's probably what I would do. Not worth the frustration.

Not that it helps you, but I just tried logging in with Microsoft Edge. Worked fine for me and that's what I'm making this post from. Why did it let me log in but not you? No idea.

If it matters, probably doesn't, the URL I used to log in is: http://www.houzz.com/

Well, it worked when I used that URL with WE. My IE is bookmarked to garden.web. Thanks, this information helps here but I'm lost on what to do for the other sites I've experienced this problem on.

I would Google the site, obtain the hyper link, and see if it loads then. If so, delete the prior bookmark, and save a new one. The prior site pointer may have expired or itself not Edge compatible.

Actually, I didn't import bookmarks from IE because I don't use IE either. Perhaps bookmarks are somehow getting mangled while being imported?

Probably bugspop1 has the right idea, don't use the bookmarks if they don't work. Rebuild them. Type them in, search for them, whatever.

Again, just thinking out loud, I'm not much of a Windows person, and my browser is Firefox. :)

Edit: Yeah, what DA says, I'm slow. :)

Well, somewhere in all of theses suggestions was the answer! Not sure specifically which one or combination but things are working now. I'm going to all my registered sites and entering my information anew and I'm getting in. Thanks guys!

You are very Welcome jrb451. Glad you're working again! I know it's a PITA but it gave me a chance to clear out old Links I didn't need any longer. Many of them I could even remember why I had them in the first place. I'm sure I thought it was a good Idea to Bookmark them at the time!
